yes sir you are correct, 14.9 per motor trend. i was surprized that it was faster than an se-r spec v in the testing which has more tq and hp stock (by .2). its all a drivers race though for the 1320. but the rsx def has top end advantage.

That was a typo in MotorTrend. The car really runs mid 15's not high 14's. I have raced two RSX-S types and beat one, and was dead even with another. My girlfriend has a 03 Eclipse GTS with 210 HP and a V6 engine and she has AEM cold air intake and we are dead even when we race. That's 40 hp's more then our car. Her car also weighs over 300 lbs more however and does NOT have MIVEC. So it all depends. We can be RSX type S's if the driver Isn't as good as you are Now it just depends on who you are. And the B&M short shifter helps me out just a little bit when it comes to shifting. Something that small could be the key difference in beating a RSX type S for me

My girlfriend and I got up to a little over 100 before we came up to an area where we had to slow down. I was pretty amazed because I figured in 4th she'd pull away from me considering it is 40 hp more and it is a V6. I actually seem to gain high end on her. Weird..

We actually just raced tonight. Was pretty fun. Tonight is the first day we've raced since we installed her AEM CAI. That thing screams when she's high in RPM's

according to modernracer.com, the ralliart does 7.4 in the 60 sprint and 15.7 in the 1/4

the rsx-s does 6.7 in the 60 sprint and 15.2 in the 1/4...

from those stats the rsx-s should be able to beat the RA pretty nicely, however it all comes down to the driver

I've still yet to race an RSX-S in my CL-S. I can't seem to find many around in my area.

In the last 2 months I've seen RSX's every day out on the street. They're everywhere in the Sacramento Area. I've seen them already with body kits, exhaust, and dropped on numerous occasions.

those stats are straight from the dealer, the other times are road test times. There are lots of guys pulling low 15's with intake and exhaust. And those arent pro drivers, just guys like you and me.

With how competetive my girlfriend is and how she just loves to prove me wrong and beat me when it comes to ANYTHING I can 100% insure you that she was trying her hardest. Last night I actually pulled away from her and when we pulled up at the next light she gave me a grin like I shifted perfectly. B&M helps alot when the race is close

not racing, but just an overall comparison of the RA to:

Focus SVT
Sentra SE-R Spec V
Impreza 2.5 RS

"
...The Ralliart...is more refined and solid than it needs to be, is a blast, and ranks a strong second here"
"
They rated them as:
1. SVT Focus
2. Lancer RA
3. Sentra SE-R Spec V
4. Impreza 2.5 RS

...they looked at peformance, dollar value, comfortabilty.

the RA i would deff pick over all of those cars, And in the other thread that talks about racing an RSX type-s well iw ould take the RA over that to because v-tec engines suck lol mivec is better. and my friend has a rsx-typ-s and it feels like a turd when i drive it haha

The RA and the RS are far beyond the Ford and Nissan as far as quality vehicles. The RS has to power more wheels and differentials so that hurts it performance wise. I sold Subaru before switching to Mitsubishi and I wouldn't turn down either car as a gift but I'd pick the RA if I had a choice.

We had a used Spec V and although it was a nice car it just didn't have the fit and feel of the two winners. I haven't driven an SVT but our daughter had a regular Focus for a couple of years and it was junk. The correct ordering is 1, 4, then take your pick.

I've never taken my car to the track, but im pretty sure that it doesn't take me 7.4 sec to get to sixty. There is no way that it takes that long if you push it.

I'll agree w/ most of that. Now what do you guys think if you toss in a few european flavours. Like the VW GTi 1.8t, or the MB 230 Kompressor.

how can you throw in a kompressor? Are you negating price and just looking for overall quality?? Because if so it is going to depend a lot on what you want out of the car. If you are going for sporty luxury I would go for like an A4 turbo-quattro. But it all depends on what you are looking for. And I actually test drove all four of the above cars before deciding on this one. The nissan seemed to me to have too flat of interior, not much styling, not much bolstering me to my seat etc. The SVT feels like it is going to crap out on you at every corner. I did not like the feeling of that car at all. The 2.5RS was the strongest competitor, but I just decided that I liked the RA a little more, although the awd would be nice for the winter in some aspects. But you should explain exactly what are your core criteria for picking a car.
