Low heat when cold out

Hey guys.

As soon as it starts getting cold out my heater doesnt get very warm or it takes forever. Car heats fine gets to normal operating temperature within a couple mins! The colder it is outside the less heat I get in the cabin. When its freezing out I have to put on recirculation or I get no hot air at all. Anyone have any clues as to what I should be looking for?

Thanks

might sound dumb but did you check to see if you are low on coolant? i had a truck do the exact same thing and it was a little low on coolant.

Mine does the exact same thing and the coolant isn't low. Let the car warm up a bit then start driving and it will blast hot air. I suspect that was a problem with the car that Mitsubishi waited to fix or something. Check the coolant though.

If your thermostat is removed or stuck open your heat will behave the exact way that you are describing.
