HELP! Alarm Install: Where does your wire pass through firewall?

My car is at the shop getting a Clifford. The installer asked me where I wanted him to drill because he couldn't locate a grommet low enough for the wire to the battery & siren to pass through. He doesn't want to go throught the steering column boot as it's too low. As of now, he plans on drilling a small hole near the clutch base.

Any suggestions?

He will finish the job tomorrow morning, July 25 (yep, a Sunday), so if anyone has any good suggestions, let me hear them.

Thanks!

The only good place is to drill a hole in the firewall on the bottom far left. Their is a soundmat their that you have to drill through. That is where my power and amp wire goes through.

I got the Concept 450 G5 w/ optional proximity sensor. I didn't bother having the glass sensor installed because it's almost useless. $450.

The reason my installer asked me where I wanted the hole drilled is he knows I am pretty picky. This is my 3rd Clifford from him in 3 years (3 separate cars of course).

EDIT: Correction, 4 years not 3.

where did you get the system installed at? im lookin to get an alarm system installed too but the thing is, will it void my warranty? i know the rule of thumb is that anything thats not from Mitsu will void it, but its still worth asking. heh

Unless your installer botches up your wiring harness, I can't see why your warranty could be voided. All he's supposed to do is to tap into your car's doors (& trunk if you wish) and lights. Thte rest of the sensors are the alarm's own connection meaning they shouldn't tap into anything else.

And no manufacturer will void your warranty for a small hole in your firewall.

Btw, my installer's in Cllifton. He's still trying to get me a compatible prox sensor, because, according to him, the G5's are not compatbile with the sensor he got me (original G4 sensor). I don't know; I think he needs to do more homework. He tells me that Clifford/DEI told him to get a DEI prox sensor.
