Evo 9 steering wheel in RA 2006

Before you throw me rocks, yes I did some researchs over the board, but haven't really found the answer to this.

At this moment, we know that the Evo 8 steering wheel won't fit the RA 06 without changing the steering column of the RA to an RA 04-05. But what about an Evo 9 steering wheel ? The Evo 9 is from 2006 and maybe Mitsubishi has changed the size of the steering column as well and it fits the RA 06 ?

Another question is about the cruise control. We all know we can relocate the cruise control lever to somewhere else. The question is, is there any way to get it work inside the wheel just like a regular RA wheel ? I can't find back the post from otter, but it's a post from 2-3 years ago stating that only changing a "spring" would fix the cruise control issue on the wheel and make it work. Could it be the "stock spring" ? I don't know, I can't find the damn thread in my browser's history.

Thanks !

Neo

Evo 8 and Evo 9 steering wheels are exactly the same (only change is color).

Good to know. I didn't find that answer during my research. Now I'm sure I would need to change the column :)

yea i did this to my 06 ra...

u have to take the evo shaft out of the bearing/tilt mechanism sleeve its in(that bolts to the dash) and put it into the oem one from the RA... but when you put the shaft into the sleeve you have to back it out a little as when the shaft is too far in it binds on the bearings and well the shaft doesn't turn well, you know what i;m talkin about when u do it

as for cruise control i just did a little custom mounting and it fit in the evo wheel just fine, theres enuf room u just gotta be creative

the shaft is the only peice from the evo you need, u do not need the clockspring or anythign else as the shaft fits inside all the RA parts
