F'ing Hood Rats!

So tuesday night I woke up to the sound of shattering glass :(' At 2:20 am some dude decided he wanted to break into my car. My car was sitting in my drive way at home. From the looks of it he tried to enter via the sunroof at first. After destroying the weather stripping and finding out that it wont budge he tried to bend the door back. Well that didn't go well, broke the glass. Luckily my dad woke up when the glass broke and ran after him with a gun. The guy hopped on his bike and ran off. I was so furious, honestly wanted to just run down the street and find the guy. He didn't get anything out of my car because because my dad chased him off before he could. The funny thing was there was a $200 ECU on the backseat and a $200 AEM wideband on the dash, yet he went for the laptop which is worth about $50 (old crappy netbook for data logging via evo scan). Typical didn't know anything about cars and how much things are worth, or how to break into a car properly! I didn't take any pictures that day because i was so mad. But i have some pictures now showing the damage. Getting it fixed next week, all covered by insurance luckily.

It hurts to look at those pictures :( my 03 civic got broken into 3 times, my 95 civic got stolen before so I know how it feels.. I just to want to setup some kind of a bomb in my car so when someone tries to do sh*t it will just explode including those mofos

IIRC, there was some theft deterent systems including either a flame thrower or peper spray. It was called Dragon's Breath or something like that. I wouldn't mind getting one of those.
To the OP, never leave anything that looks valuable in view inside your car. Laptops, gps, jewelry (even fake or cheap) can lead some douchefag to try and get inside your car, mostly causing damage. If you're anything like me, you did great by not going after him. You'd probably end up killing a kid doing youth mistakes. I know I would. |
Wow man sorry to hear about that and yet you know now anything value shouldn't be visable. Hell the police said on the news to not leave change in the center console because people are breaking into cars for the change. :eek:
I have a friend that installed razor blades under his car because someone had found his hide a key once and got in. Maybe not the most practical but it will get the point across rather quickly. |
wow dude, sorry to hear...sometimes people's problems make them do stupid things, and sometimes people are just stupid people...at least it's covered.
A buddy of mine had his window smashed out for his coffee change. |
Damn that sucks big time... I take everything out of my car when I get out and my friends are always like your so paranoid... I guess I better start taking my change out the ashtray too
|
Wow, sorry to hear dude. At least like Cranswick said, you're covered. Hope things get fixed soon. Doesn't hurt to be a bit paranoid and take stuff out of your car though.

sorry to see that bro. My car got broken into 2 weeks into moving into my new place (this current year). F***er used something to pry the door handle out and managed to get in. Result of this, I now don't leave any valuables anywhere in my car and purchased a $400 viper alarm system. best of luck to you and I too hope to catch the f***er some day.

I'm moving into a "different" neighbourhood next weekend, so I hope that I don't have to deal with anything like that any time soon. I've already invested in a compustar 2-way LED alarm but haven't had it installed yet, planning on saving it for the "next car" maybe. I'm not opposed to using a CO2 pistol on some poor idiot either but yeah. Definitely won't be leaving anything that looks remotely valuable hanging around, already getting into the habit of removing my faceplate haha.
Good luck with the repairs. |

having a car broken into sucks
having somem dumb pos that doesnt even know how to brake into the car and does more external damage vs taking a 50$ laptop, even worse. were do these retarded kids come from seriously? how stupid do you really have to be, to not know what ANYTHING is worth before trying to attempt a robbery lol. Its like going to the bank, and asking for the tellers necklace vs asking for money. glad its all getting fixed by insurance. |
Thanks guys! Some of your responses made me laugh :) If I have learned anything from this experience it is to not leave anything remotely valuable in my car.. Even a $50 laptop that I could care less if I lose tomorrow. I will post some pics after it gets back from the shop. Won't be until the week of the 26th due to the holiday. I will say I miss my car. Sometimes I forget how much I enjoy my car. When it's busted all other cars I drive just are not the same. Mitsubishi ra ftw!

"I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE MY RA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :fire::shocked::guitar::drink:{OMG} |
Sorry to hear that man. It sucks bigtime. Good thing it was covered by :mitsu: Had someone break into my 86 Caprice years back. It was a total POS so not sure what they were looking for. Only thing visible was a late 90's model sony head unit (w/ cassette...lol) and my bible. At least I replaced the glass cheap from the junkyard. The one thing I hate about shattered glass though is no matter how well you clean a piece of glass always seems to show up again sooner or later.
