Does anyone know how to convert from 4 bulb to 3 bulb on '06 Ralliart? Or...is there a adapter that you can disconnect the bulbs so they fit into a tail light with 3 bulbs? Im looking at some smoked alteeza's that will fit my Ralliart but are only 3 bulb. The Evos are 4 bulb, but obviously won't fit my Ralliart.

the fact that it says 03-06 already shows that they're probably not going to fit your RA. 02-03 models we cant share tails because different shaping.

just get depo tails and call it a day

thy come with new harness so its just a plug n play thing. if its a 3 bulb it comes with harness for 3bulb, if the tail has 4 it coomes with a 4 bulb harness.. hope this helps

 

I'm confused by what 02-03 models have to do with it...I have an '06 RA, and the tail light says it fits '03-'06 all Lancer 4 door models. So again, is there a way to convert them to 3 bulb from 4? Can you purchase a harness that will convert it to a 3 bulb tail light?

 

Yes, but it would involve rewiring, schematics, relays and all sorts of custom wiring. Way too much effort involved. Not reccomended.

 

it wont fit period.... its a known fact that the tails between the 02/03 arent interchangeable with the 04-06's...the 02-03 tails are diff in shape from the 04-06. thy may look same but they wont fit....

like he said their is no conv harness at all, never was... you are better off getting one that fits properly like from depo brand.. the one i posted above is aval in black and in cf...ill repete what i posted before

i know what the 04-06 look like and what 02-03 look like they are diff and wont work...

I know for a fact that they fit on my model (they do because a friend of mine with the same car as mine except an '05 already ordered these and is waiting on me to see if there is a solution to our problem), I'm not sure why they say '03. The only issue is the 3 bulb vs the 4 bulb. I'll probably just go with the Depo ones.

 

so your friend with the 05 already tried to mount them up and it was oem fit. all that was left is to plug everything in to get it working am i correct in understanding?

 

Correct, we've called up the place we got it from too. They weren't much help, but they're willing to give a refund including shipping. It's very confusing that they would be an OEM fit, but the bulbs wouldn't be right

 

i find it hard to believe that the ones u linkd earlier fit 04-06,
when in fact [ one u linked ] thy are a 02-03 design that looked similar to my tyc's that are for 02-03..

both are exactly same style with slight diff but are exactly the same. that stye is all over ebay and are for 02-03

I'm not exactly sure why you're looking for proof. Why would I lie? I linked the site - K2 motor. The pics they have there wouldn't be any different than the pics I could provide. My friend decided to just send them back, we're both going to go with the Depo ones. This wasn't really meant to turn into an issue of who knows more about what fits what, it was simply seeing if there was a way to change from 4 bulbs to 3.

 

the thing is. the pictures on the k2 website are not even on a lancer but on an evo. and if you looked the shapes werent even the same from the car to the picture of the tails which doesnt do much for making us think that they can fit. 02-03 lancer tails havent been shown to be interchangable with the 04-06 lancers which is why we're all kind of.... o_O? if you found different then kudos to you and maybe see if you can just get the harness from an 02-03 lancer and just solder the connections together

there is such little info on this because noone has ever done it. im all for being different so if you can get it to work then this could possibly open up more options for us

 

Yeah I'm pretty confused. They definitely fit, I was there when my friend put them on. I'm wondering if they have the same style for different years. I was thinking about finding the connectors from an 02 or 03. But I figured I'd just go with the Depo ones. I'm really bummed because they would have looked really good on my blacked out RA. Oh well..

 

im not doubting that it'd look good or not because its your car and make it how you like it. you could always spray tint your stockers?

if you really want the k2 ones then you're going to have to experiment and cut wires and see what works and what doesnt.
