You think about using an Evo subframe.. Dont know if this would buy you anything...but you put a lot of work into this already..Just a thought to see how it lines up..

I've been looking at Evo IX's today and found their front wheel arch to be generally bigger than the lancers at the front and top, but not the rear! If you look at a lancers wheel arch its top point is just under the side repeater. On the Evo, the top point of the arch is above the side repeater, which is in the same place on both cars.

I will still install one or both on mine, to see if my lower diameter wheels and evo ix front bumper will help make room.

I've got an idea. I remember seeing someone awhile back, I don't remember where though, that had done a front 04-06 es to evo 8 conversion with fenders, bumper, hood and headlights. That may be the only other option other than using the smallest rim and tire combo possible. I still dont' know how to fix the toe and belt problem. Belt problem could be fixed with a motor swap.

Its a strange one that! I LOVE the look of Evo's and its so easy to put that whole front end on your lancer!... but... I dont want to. My lancer's best part is the fact that it looks like a really cool lancer (we dont have a lancer scene here at all), not an Evo 8 - just like all the other Evos.

ya ya I get **** all the time for wanting to put evo stuff on my lancer. I really just wanted polyurethane bushings and I really wanted to see how well the roll center kit worked. Oh and no improvement, I'm done working on my car for a while. lol

I think it is easier to convert the 04 to 06 than the 02/03. I believe its due to the radiator support. Its just about the same between the evo and base models. I'll have to find some pics to compare the two supports.

its funny because looking at it you can tell the wheels need to come forward, which is exactly what happened to me. But even if I did go through all the trouble it still wouldn't clear the belt tensioner.

That is true, it still doesn't help your problem. I meant to ask you, what do you do to correct the toe issue?

just try to garage align it lol. It gets way out of adjustment and I just used a straightedge to mark where tires were and measured. Pretty ghetto I know, but works til you can get to an alignment shop
