Questions about upsize the rim of 04 Ralliart

Hi guys,

I've got a 04 Ralliart. I'm going to change my wheel size from the original 16" to a 17" one. I have a few questions about the ABC of tire & wheel:

1. For the bolt pattern, the original is 5x113.6, but I saw a lot of 5-bolt-pattern wheel with a parameter of 5x100/113.6 (from amazon). I suppose that would be two options of the bolt pattern, but there wasn't a chance to select it after I entered the product page. Can I trust such kind of spec?

2. I can't find the original width of the rim. My original tires are P205/50R16. I think P205/45R17 could be the best in order to avoid change the tire diameter and keep the tire in the same width. Generally, almost every 17" rim has a width of at least 7". I'm not sure that a 205 mm wide tire is good on a 7" wide rim, because I found a chart said 205 mm wide tire is good for a 5.5" wide rim.

3. BTW, do you think how much fuel efficiency I'll lost, if I change the 205 mm wide tire to 225 mm one? I find the 225 mm wide tire are more safe for the 7" wide tire. If I don't lose too much fuel efficiency with increase the width of the tire, I'll go a 225 mm one.

Thank you very much!!

1: Our bolt pattern is 5x114.3

2: Original width I believe is 6.5''. You can run a 215/40/17 without issues on a 7, or even 7.5'' wide wheel. 205/45/17 will look too beefy....

3: the difference will be miniscule.

I have 17x7.5'' rims with a +40mm offset, 215/40/17 tires and there is no rub...not even a little.

The offset information is very useful for me. Thank you very much for all your answers!

PS. My bad the bolt pattern I mentioned on Amazon was 5x100/114.3. Never mind. I'll get some with 5x114.3.

What about this? There are 10 bolt holes on a 5x100/114.3 wheel. Five of them are 5x100 and the others are 5x114.3. Is this true?

You love it. Lol I'm actually going to go back to a 16" rim and ditch the 17" black ones. What colour for the 16"s is yet to be decided. Lol

OEM rims are 16 x 6 with a 46 offset that would be +ve.

I stand corrected! lol

It's proving to be very difficult to find a 16x8 rim within the specs that Im looking for, and our bolt pattern. There are some, but none that really peak my interest. The ones that I do like come in a 16x7, and I'm unsure as to the offset I can run.

I've seen that a 16x8 with a +35 offset works pretty well, which would lead me to think that a 16X7 with a +20 ish offset would be good to go aswell...so here is my question:

With a 16x7, what is the absolute maximum offset can I run with a 215/45/16, keeping in mind that I'm rolling my fenders in the near future to accomodate.
