Would 215 50 r17 rub or fit.
Hey guys,
I have a stock 2005 RA. I was wondering if tires that are 215 50 r17 would fit in the car and would not rub.
I have seen in the threads that 215 45 r17 does fit.
Thanks

that's pretty tall...my winter tires are 195 65 r15, which is a half inch smaller in diameter than the 215/50/r17 you're asking about, and mine rub like crazy with Tein S-Techs...I don't think offset would make any difference cause they rub on the front and back of the inner wheel well splash guards. 17" rims without lowering would probably look weird as **** too, I would go to a 45 profile if I were to run 215's on 17's.

Does your back wheel rub more or your front. My front seems to have a big gap. My back is not as much. I just wanna know if you observed the same thing.

Hey man i looked at the thread. Greatly helped. It is just unclear still if itis better to go with 215/40/17 or 215/45/17. Again my car is not lowered so I am unsure if the 45s would fit. Also any clue on the ofset. I have heard +40 is good. Also any clue on spacers, because I have no clue if I would need them.

If the car is not lowered and you never plan to lower 215/45/17 will be good. I have 215/45/17, I'm lowered on Swift Sports and I need to pull front and rear fenders. It rubs slightly but infrequently. Regarding offset, oem rims are 46, I am on 38 now.
Keep in mind that on 215 45 17 I noticed the loss of acceleration compared to stock. But the increase in grip is orgasmic
