Anyone have trouble removing the top rear bolt from the rear caliper.
last time I did pads i didn't remove the top pin, just swung them up and eventually the pins are sticking-stuck.Question is-you can't get a ratchet or anything on the bolt head cause the brake line is in the way.Now they are on tight.Do I need to remove the brake line? and do I have to remove it at the caliper or up higher? Anyone have any tricks or experience with this.

it's impossible to remove without removing the brake line, which sucks cause then you HAVE to bleed. removing it from the caliper has less likelihood of breaking something, but it doesn't swivel so the caliper has to be off to completely remove it, you can break the torque before hand...

I just put on a set of inexpensive pads at the time-can still swing it up to replace pads and it seems less sticky now however i am planning to replace the rear rotors and pads soon anyway and might as well update to stainless lines since it all has to be removed ,replaced and bleed anyway.
Seems like a bad design flaw-could have been made to be out of the way of a socket wrench.

Remove lower bolt.
Lift up caliper and slide out top slider pin with bolt still attatched

04 ralliart -no pins just 2 bolts and it seems rear brake line must be removed from body and then from the caliper to get a socket on the bolt

Ok I think I get it
Remove the complete caliper with/including the mounting bracket and then remove brake line from caliper to have access to the top bolt. Loosen tension from brake line connection and spin caliper since brake line doesnt swivel.Remove top swivel bolt with ratchet and socket-cleanup and lubricate and put bolt back in,replace brake line and attach complete caliper essembly to wheel,swivel up on newly lubricated top pin, change rotor and pads-reessemble and bleed.
I would have trhought more people would have run into this.

I recently had to suffer through this too...I ended up cutting the top bolt with a hacksaw.
