Don't want to upset the diehard RA fans but for those in Canada, the 2008 WRX is now being offered below the US sticker price for cash in Canada..

^ they are offering them cheap becasue they are ugly, like they arent that bad of a car, just i wouldnt drive one also the more sales they have of the WRX now, the less sales the RA will have because most people (not us) dont know/know much about the RA so the WRX(and 3 MPS) are the only options and people are not goign to change brand new cars after 6 - 12 months, so its actually a good strategy by scooby, too bad mitsu is a lil slow to get behind the 8ball

also just for referance, WRX is going for $39990AUD drive away, subaru is covering all on road costs, taxes, rego, etc - saving people thousands and the RA is expected to start at ~$42000AUD

*** edit
just saw in todays cars guide ad that they have a "2008 STi melbourne enhanced WRX limited edition" for $40990, they say for that extra $1000 u get: flexible tower brace, short shifting kit, front lip spoiler, tinted windows, enkei 17", STi enhanced decal, and defencive driver course run by subaru
oh and that is also drive away price

I see a LOT of the blobeye and hawkeye Imprezas around, and I always thought they were fairly attractive cars. I've seen like...2 new-body Imprezas here. Granted the old ones have been out longer, but the fact that I haven't been seeing new ones on the road says something to me. They really screwed up when they designed the new car. I fully understand WHY they need to discount it so much.

Well, that's typical for last year's model -- they're steeply discounted in the US too, so the comparison holds about as much water as a sieve... if you doubt me, go to a Canadian Subaru dealer and ask for a new WRX ordered to your specs (i.e. not from a lot), and if you push it, they'll eventually tell you it'll have to be a 2009, and they won't deal much on the price of one of those.

Beware of dealers trying to clear last year's inventory, unless you don't care much what you end up with, of course -- because it's a real grab-bag of features and time spent sitting on the lot.
