Soooooo I lost my key fob on my trip to the outlets the other day. I didn't drive the car there though so that was a positive, the negative you ask?
I was too damn lazy to sync the backup fob. Yup, that's right i was locked out of my damn car. BTW that emergency key doesn't do JACK. I would not count on that if you get locked out cause your keyfob screws up.
Anyway had to call road service who had to tow the car, tried charging me 50 dollars for it, on another note i just told them it randomly stopped working and my backup key was in another state lol. Anyway they got in, we tried using that damn emergency key when the alarm was blaring and NOTHING. I pretty much expected it though since most locks and alarm systems are separate entities when it comes to that. Not to mention we couldn't figure out how to take it out of park, couldn't find it in the manual.
Anyway got it towed (safely) and got the backup synced as well as got my recalls taken care of. Finally, does anyone know about how much those damn keyfobs cost???

I never even considered the alarm with the metal key, just tried it, I do not recommend!!!

Guess I better read up some more and figure it out before I am forced to figure it out while my alarm if going off.

Well my friend had a VW with the laser-cut key and all, and they charged him like 299+ for a new one, and our is completley wireless and keyless so probabley a good range of at least 299+ probabley a crazy amount for it
I actually asked the deal this question its 100 to program and 250 or 299 for the key fob... sorry to say...
now you got a back up key fob?? or you mean you the 2nd fast keys?? i know when i got my car 2 fast key and they both work... lol

your second fat-key fob should work fine.
you should not have needed to "sync" anything.
both of mine have work flawlessly from day one.
and.............the metal key works fine. i use mine at least once per day.

Obviously you've never stolen a car before. Fail.
Put the metal key in the door lock and unlock the car. Put the metal key into the steering column lock after you remove the cap. Rotate it past the locked position, press on the brake pedal and the shift lever will move anywhere you want it to go. It will not start but it will rotate to the crank position with just the key.
If there is one of the [correct for that car] FAST key thingies near the transducer inside the column, then it will crank and start.
Open the truck with the lever/pull handle and then disconnect the battery if the alarm annoys you.
All of the above is in the owners manual. Every new car owner should test and practice the emergency procedures once a quarter just to stay in practice.

Congrats yours were.
Congrats on your metal key working, we're all impressed. Mine felt like it would snap off in the door.
Also, i wasn't the one trying to get the car out of park, the tow guy was and i assumed he knew what to do.
