Engine Bay Vibrations and such

Just curious if any other 2009+ RA owners notice that the heat shielding or something else in the engine bay resonates and makes a horrible vibration sound at ~2500-3000 RPM in temperatures below 40 F.

It seriously is driving me insane when I have to listen to it while driving and yes one way to alleviate this issue is to turn up the radio ! I have a feeling that it is the heat shielding that curves outward from the firewall, but I'm not sure.

Anyone else notice this? Any thoughts?

No vibration/rattle here. I am pretty sensitive to that stuff too.

I would check (when the car is cold) which shield is loose and try to tighten it down.

Only vibrations I hear is the ice rattling by the wiper blades, . I haven't heard anything in the engine bay/heat shield area though.

I've been hearing some more rattling in sub-freezing temperatures, but as far as I can tell, mine's coming from the dash/glovebox area.

Why not just take off the shielding?

Dunno about Syracuse, but up north we have a lot of snow, salt, sand, gravel, etc... I'd prefer these things not enter my engine bay.

Might be the stock downpipe heatshield if you hear it from the firewall area

Well, I feel that I have found the cause. I checked the heat shielding around the manifold and it felt loose. Checked the bolts holding the shield in place and they were tight. Removed the shielding and the sound is not near as bad as it was. I still hear a slight buzzing sound from shielding that is underneath the big heat shield, but that will be fixed with a bolt and a washer or two.

So my initial thought was incorrect, the heat shield coming off the firewall had nothing to do with the resonating sound.

I hate having to hear all the interior vibrations coming from the plastic dash and console we have... especially when you have an exhaust!!!

Re-installed 2 bolts with some washers to tighten the remaining heat shield on the upper downpipe assembly. So far so good, as I don't hear anything now!

I will know by tomorrow if it fixed my resonation problem for good. I'll keep everyone updated.
