Coolant question

So I poped my hood when the car was started and I noticed that the white container on the left (under power steering) was at the low mark. Is this the overflow for the radiator? And was it low cuz the car was on and it went into the radiator? I'm not sure what that's there for so can someone help me out? and why was it low?

Thanks frank

No worries. It has a cold and hot level and it is where you service the coolant level. If it keeps needing coolant - then you have a problem.

It should be up to the LOW mark when COLD. As the fluid hets up, it will expand in volume and some will push out of the hot radiator to the bottle you looked at.

When hot, the level will rise - generally up to the HOT mark. As long as the level is between the COLD and HOT marks, you're good to go.
