iPhone audio issues
iPhone audio issues
Relevant info: iPhone 4s, iOS 5.0.1, 2011 RA with Bluetooth
My iPhone can play music with Bluetooth audio through the car stereo system, and I can change tracks with the steering wheel controls, but I cannot use voice commands, and the track name almost never shows up on the screen. If I want to change playlists I have to use the iPhone to do it.
My iPhone can play music with USB through the car stereo system, and I can change tracks with the steering wheel controls, but voice command does not work because it just says the database is being updated every time I try to use it. The screen does show the correct track (or randomly just the number). Also I have to wait 2-3 minutes after first connect while it says "iPod Loading" until music will start.
I would love for Bluetooth audio to use the in-car voice control and show track names.
I would settle for the direct USB iphone connection if it actually worked the way it was supposed to and didn't take so long to load.
I would use Siri to change playlists but it usually ends up like this:
ME: "Change to 'rock' playlist'
SIRI: "I'm sorry I don't understand 'range hock hiss'"
ME: "CHANGE.... TO.... ROCK.... PLAY-LIST!"
SIRI: "Calling Angie R. Fist, is this correct?"
ME: "I hate you Siri."
SIRI: "That's not a very nice thing to say."
Anyone with iOS 5.0.1 and a 4s having better results than me?

yeah, i dont think that our system is capable for that, yet. they might come out with a update for our system. but that just being hopeful
i have a iphone 4 running 5.0.1, it displays the title of the song like 80% of the time. usually i notice it getting messed up when i recieve a call and it resumes back to the song and the title stays on one song and doesnt change with the corresponding audio
also when i connect it via usb i find myself looking at a "docked" screen in my music app. i cant phycially search though my songs and pick one. im just stuck with the "up and down" of the car system and choosing for playback to be in repeat and/or shuffle.

gotta love siriI dont have the 4s so I cant help you out there
I got the update at my local dealer. Works like a charm. Still get the issue with messing up the song name after receiving a call but the USB connectivity works again and you can use the voice command built into the sound system to search for artists, albums, and playlists on your 4s. Also, the bluetooth connects much quicker than before the update.

On a side note this update also made switching tracks much faster for me with bluetooth.

Sorry to dig up an old post, but I just got the update at my dealer (freak'n $99). Track names now appear correctly, but I still cannot use voice command to search for artists, albums, or playlists over Bluetooth. Were you referring to using voice just for USB connectivity?
