SST Transmission Reliability

So I really want to buy a Ralliart, I'm thinking used because it would be a real stretch for me to afford new and I'm looking at a 2010 sportback with 27,000 miles. But looking around the Internet I'm really nervous to buy one at all with all the people having failed transmissions, and saying that if it didn't fail it wouldn't last past 100,000 miles. I want to keep the car for a long time because I love these cars but I'm super hesitant now. When do transmissions usually experience problems if they are faulty? I heard 09's and some 10's were built with faulty parts?

That mileage is right around when it is due for a sst tranny fluid change. Ask for proof that it has been done, or see if you can work it into the deal that the fluid gets changed if you buy it. If you buy the car with no idea if it has been changed I would do it right away, but be prepared to shell out some $$$ for the work if you are not doing it yourself.
Personally, I don't think I would ever buy a car like this used unless it had extremely low miles. You have no idea what that last 27000 miles was like for the car. Was it a owned by someone who took great care of it? Or was it someone that beat the living hell out it everyday? You'll never know. These transmissions are not repairable, only option is replacement around 10k.

He'll, i made a stink when I showed up to by my car, website said 6 miles on it, got there it had 70 miles. The salesman thought i was being overly picky but I told him those 70 miles are all test drives and I'm sure everyone who drove it wanted to open her up at least once. A big no no on a new engine.

According to the Mitsubishi dealership its at the previous owners were a couple that traded it in for the outlander because they needed more space from what they had in the sportbavk and had brought it in regularly for it oil changes. Of course, the carfax is vague only having bought, registered, and sold on it's history so I'm not sure how I could know that for sure.

That was 2-3 years ago.

I also heard on the Internet that there is a secret planet getting ready to crash into the Earth on 12/12/12
