2009 gg ralliart here with 108000 miles... just picked the car up a few days ago and has never been modded with a full service history... everything on it is flawless... hopefully taking good care of it and regular changing of the fluids will net me many years of fun

2009 RA. 102000 miles. Stock with boost pill & very, very conservative tune & hypermiling driving.

Transmission went out. Exhaust manifold cracked bad. Power steering pump went out. Ac compressor went out. Wheel bearing went out. Rear wheel abs wheel speed sensor went out. Entire roof was brown with rust.

I traded it in last week.

That doesn't make me feel great lol, I just picked up a 13 RA about 6 mo ago. Low miles though. My previous car, 08 graphite grey gts, oxidized like crazy. A couple of those things within 100k miles would be par for the course. Tranny/rust/ex mani problems are definitely not normal wear and tear lol

Sucks to hear. Out of curiosity, did you drive it in normal or sport mode most of the time? Were all the other issues recent / higher miles or did some happen earlier on?

Also, did you trade it in for anything fun?

Total of 37 oil changes, 6 SST fluid changes and with 147,000 miles on engine and tranny she still running strong.

Time to hit 200,000 miles milestone

Came here because it said "older Ralliarts", didn't know it meant 2009 lol. My 2004 doesn't have the same trans but I haven't had any problems and I've owned it 13 years now.

Comparing your 2004 transmission to the DC-SST in the 2009+ Ralliarts is like comparing apples and oranges. They are completely and totally different.

damn if you took what I said as a comparison then I guess you read too much into it. I figured the first sentence would've made it obvious there was no comparison between the two vehicles. But thanks for taking the time out of my day and yours to put me in my place lol

We drove it pretty much in normal mode all the time. Some issues were early on, like the AC and wheel bearing.

It was traded for a family vehicle, a new dodge durango r/t.

How do you like the durango r/t so far? I've actually been looking at those as something to get down the road (and I could tow my ralliart with it if/when it breaks, lol).

Howdy!!

I thought I would give another update a few more years into owning my 2011 MY12 RA. I live in Brisbane Australia (moderate to hot and humid climate) and currently have just shy of 150,000km (93,000 miles) on the clock.

About 100,000 km ago I had the car modified in terms of the tune, and SST tune to make 186kW (250hp) with S-Sport. I have not had any major issues with the car mechanically since the car failed to start a few years ago (had flooded the engine the night before)

A recurring issue I do have is the waste-gate actuator lever has warped (educated guess) and when running the car hard it ceases open, killing boost completely. WD-40/CRC has been my remedy to free the valve and it has only happened half a dozen times.

Another recurring issue that has developed is a little unusual. When the car is cold (18C/64F), and I am driving up my street (very slight incline) the car will automatically change gears up at around 2000 RPM regardless of SST setting (Normal, Sport, S-Sport auto or manual modes). This is no longer an issue after a couple of minutes whilst driving and the gearbox warms up a tad.

I thought it may have been the fluid, but I have made regular changes of the fluid at 30,000km intervals since I was at 60,000km.

Other than that the car seems to be going fine and still pulls harder or as hard as the majority of the local V8's in my area =D

Had a 2009 RA still going strong at 160000KM with boost pill, running 91octane GST maps, winter driven its whole life, but regularly maintenanced. got into a collision and its a complete loss, however it was perfectly fine up until then. The SST seems to last longer than people figured it would.

Have a stock MY09 sportback at almost 160,000 km with only a boost pill and tune. Has regular SST service and still going strong. The suspension is starting get a little rough and i'm losing some boost down low which I'm looking to remedy with new coilovers & intercooler kit in the not so distant future.

My 2011 is at 69,000 miles. Picked it up with 13,000 miles. Had the AWD pump replaced under warranty. Oil changes every 3-4k miles, swapped tranny fluid @ 38k miles. About to do brakes and diff/transfer fluid. Runs strong. Only issue I have, which is not really a problem.. yet, when is cold there is a cracking noise when I make turns, goes away as the car warms up... haven't traced the problem.

Had over 400whp for the last 45000mi....no issues other than the turbo manifold bolts backing out and tearing the gasket. Also had a problem with my exhaust bumping into the power steering rack causing me to lose power steering fluid, but that's all fixed up.
