Think I changed my mind guys. I've been checking out the reviews of the 2015 WRX and most of them can't find a thing wrong with the car (except for maybe a few of the plastic pieces in the interior look cheap) and most of them love it. Only problems is they don't seem to budge much on price and they come with summer tires also.

Changed my mind again guys. I stumbled across some ads for new 2014 Mustang V6's for 16k and GT's for just over 24k! Yeah they are base or near base, but they have a lot more standard equipment than the 2011-2012 models and the V8 is crazy cheap for 420hp. I know the 2015 will be better, but I don't think they will ever be discounted that much. It sounds like they come with decent all season tires, but I know I would have to get some winter tires for them if I got one. The only thing that puts a wrench in going to look at one right away is the cheapest cars are about a 7 hour drive away (there are a few about 1.5k more an hour or so away, but automatics) and I just ran off the road in my car this weekend and have to get the front bumper fixed. Plus paid a wrecker service and got a ticket so I'm not too happy at the moment.

Lol, I thought you wanted a car that can handle winter driving better. A RWD muscle car really won't do that for you. Honestly, if you're looking at a Mustang, you might as well just stay with your Hyundai. Especially the V6 is pretty sad. Though it seems like you just want a new car...

Yeah it really does seem like you are just interested in a new car but have no clue what you want. Im going to tell you right now, because of your issues with your car and winter you need to stay far away from anything rwd especially a Mustang. If youre looking for something with speed trust me the Ralliart will def make you happy as will the WRX. If youre looking for a manual youre out of luck with the Ralliart as its only SST. The WRX obviously comes in manual only. Really you just need to pro and con your options on what you are looking for the car.

I hear what you are saying. I did ask some guys on a mustang forum and most of them said they do fine in snow as long as you drive reasonably, get some good tires and maybe put some weight in the trunk. Ironically it looks like the big V8 gets almost identical gas mileage to the RA and maybe slightly better on the highway. Plus there will be no need to spend money on performance upgrades and could just concentrate on appearance and maybe sound down the road. Whats weird is these are the same four cars I was considering the past couple times I was looking for a new car.

Sorry man but if you think a Mustang is going to be good in the snow go ahead and buy and regret! You own a rwd car now thats not that good in snow but you want to buy a Mustang with a V8 for $25k then buy snow tires for $1k and still drive ridiculously slow in the winter?! Why dont you just buy snow tires for the Genesis? IMO, Ill NEVER own another rwd car living in the midwest. I used to own a 350Z, and if there was ever any snow my car was basically screwed. I loved that car and spent a fortune on mods but I ended up sliding off an interstate into someones front yard almost hitting their house so that was the end of that car. I bought a Jeep Wrangler after that. Bad choice, absolutely horrible gas mileage, slow as hell, and my Mud Terrains loved to slide when snow was on the ground. In came the Ralliart!! AWD, power, decent mpgs, fully loaded, and with snow tires this car is amazing in the snow. I honestly dont think the gas mileage is bad. I dunno what people drove before this but if you come from a Civic, yeah mpgs are down a bit but I dont think $40-60 a week on gas with a 1 1/2 hour commute everyday.

Ran your RWD off the road and want to get a mustang to improve your winter driving capabilities?? I understand how tempting a cheap 400+HP car is, but you should seriously consider your safety here. If you go with the RA, you can enjoy driving in the snow instead of worrying about it. You can slap on a nice set of bolt-ons once you have the cash, and still be able to keep up with the mustang fairly well.

All Seasons tires are no season tires. They don't excel at anything, but treadwear...
I ran both Conti Extremes and now the Michelin Pilot Sports. The two best winter performing tires.
They both suck compared to my $380 set of General Altimaxs. Every year I want to sell my winter wheels. We got 6-12 inches again for the 4th time this winter. So, I'm glad I still have them.

Use truecar.com the website or app. I was pricing it at the dealer and they were pushing it hard.
I pretty much find a dealer who does truecar and get a price quote. Then, I goto a dealer that doesn't participate in truecar. I show them the email quote and it shows the OTD price (taxes TBD). I just tell them the dealer the price is they gave me is out the door after everything.

Dealers are freaking hunger to sell cars right now especially, Mitsubishi.

Currently RA is going for $25,999 car price on true car with all the current incentives. 0% interest is awesome right now. I would just test the waters and ask for 26,500 out the door after taxes as the top price point. I think that would be a good deal.

I'm inclined to agree with the people above me. Not saying you have to get the Ralliart necessarily, but if you're that concerned about snow/winter driving, it might be worth reconsidering your desire for RWD.

Yeah, winter tire selection for my current car is limited due to the weird size. I've done numerous searches for a RA and the closet dealer is about a 2 hour drive away. I found a few, one for 29k, one for 28.5k and 28k (that one says includes 1k discount). When I tried Truecar for my area it said truecar pricing of about 27k, but I'm not sure if that inluded the 1k rebate and don't know if they would be willing to go any below that. I have to try to keep it at around 25-26k max especially since I'm not sure what they would give me for my car. I may be out of luck at least for a few months until I pay it down some more. btw, I did find a used 2013 with 10k miles for 23.5k at Carmax but its down in Texas and there is a $600 fee to transfer it to Columbus and I would like to actually see and test drive one before committing. Of course maybe they would be willing to go lower as the Truecar price for the 2014 Mustang GT is 27.5k, but I've seen them advertised for 24k.

What is the weird size of tire? You def dont have to buy winter tires that are the same size as the stock tires youre running! What kind of monthly payment are you looking at? If these cars are too pricey for you then look at the WRX. Its cheaper and with awd its a really good deal. You can see 24K advertised all day, but that doesnt mean youre ever going to go to the dealer and find it for that price. Theres now way ever again I will buy the base model of a car just because of the price. I like a car pretty loaded and power everything and since I was switching for a Jeep to the Ralliart just the amount of money I was saving on gas made up for the price of the car!

I run 16" Winter wheels and tires that are really close to stock diameter but the winter tires because they are 16" are half the price of 18" winter tires.

You can get a 16" winter set mounted and shipped online under 1k.

1k for winter tires and wheels isn't bad. It would cost me around that just for tires now. I did some more searching and found a red RA for 26.5 and a black one for a little over 26k and its only a couple hours away. I don't know if I'd get used to the styling of the RA. Its not bad, but not as good looking as my current car or a mustang imo. The interior looks pretty good though, except the base seats look kind of bland and flat. Wish I could find one with the Recaros, but it looks like you have to get an expensive package to get them. With the mustang, you can just get Recaro seats as an option for only about 1.3k. How is the stock stereo in the RA?

btw, my tires are 225/45-18 front and 245/45-18 rear. I would like to get a payment of around $400 or a little less. I'm paying $413 now, but my interest rate was 4.6% and I think I could get a little better rate now. It looks like the WRX would be around the same price and most likely a couple grand more for the 2015, but that looks like its going to be a really nice car. Of course the 2015 mustang is going to be improved in almost all areas too, but likely going to be a little out of my range. Who knows, maybe they will be discounted this time next year before the 2016 come out, but I doubt as much. I don't really mind getting a base car either as the only things I kind of wish mine had were fog lights (the 2014 are supposed to have them) and maybe a bit more power. Although a tune for $400 will net about 30hp and 100ft/lbs. The base GT looks to be decent too, except for maybe the stereo (not a very big deal to me) and possibly the seats. Although different wheels and track apps would be nice.

You get what you pay for. Mustangs are cheap because they are cheaply made. Lots of horsepower, bad at any kind of handling, even in the summer. So if you're having problems with the Genesis, buying a car with LOTS more torque on those rear wheels is only going to make your problem worse.

Bottom line, if you can afford two cars, the Mustang might be a nice, cheap, but fun car for the summer. You buy a FWD or AWD with winter tires as a second car and you'll do alright. But if you're going to rely solely on one car, get one that does everything. The RA and WRX are amazing for that. AWD lets you have fun in any condition, and I'm driving on performance All-Seaons too, not winters. Sounds like you would prefer the WRX since it has more power.
