drl idea

so im sitting and thinking right now, a couple days i was with my girl and in her 09 eclipse we got rid of the DRL's by bending a pin in her ecu, right now im thinking that we can do that to our cars maybe, there is a box shaped thing behind each headlight i dont have a volt meter but if someone could go behind and maybe check if the headlight bulb and drls are on a diff pin maybe we can get rid of it idk just a crazy idea someone see the voltage if they can

not sure if thats a good idea... pending a pin in the ECU for DRL.....
anyway..

Do you have OEM HID? If you do, just remove the bulb =P

If you dont... there are plenty of relay out there for that purpose..

yeah, you bending pins in the ecu. GL with that.

ROFL

Man you really need to learn to read. He said hes already bent pins on his ECU and it worked on a previous car. On the RA hes looking to do it on the harness behind the headlight.

I don't know why people have such a problem with the drls. Its not like you can see them when you are in the car.

If u have OEM HIDs just remove the fuse, if u have normal headlights just buy Jrox's Relay or something

bending pins on the ecu is crazy, I would just cut the wires to my ecu one by one until the DRL's go out... :-)

MyEvo8Urs Jan 25, 2011 05:06 PM

Oh and one more thin make sure the car is running when you cut the wires because if you cut a wire and the car shuts off, you might wanna connect the last one cut to make sure you can start your car back up again. Just another tip I wanted to share.

not on the ecu you dam hurp durps

on the box behind each headlights and if it works on a eclipse then why wont it work on a ralliart? its not a ecu its just something that takes ur light inputs and makes them go to each bulb

Do you mean the Ballast? If your talking about HID?

Stig013 Jan 25, 2011 05:17 PM

I'm thinking, just pull out the whole ECU and replace it with one of those mice in a wheel things. I am almost sure that the DRLs wont go on then? Can some one back me up on that??????????

MyEvo8Urs Jan 25, 2011 05:21 PM

Why am I trying to explain this to some that calls a component of a cars headlight system the box behind the headlights or the ecu? You really don't know what your talking about and if I were you I would stay faaaaaar way from doing any kind of electrical mods with out fully understanding what your doing.

Look I am not trying to bash you, and you shouldn't call people names... sooooo... if you need help figuring something out, use your brain, find out what the components are call so you can have a rational discussion about something you are trying to achive.

notice how i said someone with a volt meter should check it out

initial_d2k Jan 25, 2011 07:08 PM

this can be done with a relay kit and 20$ .. why re-invent the wheel..
