if you ask most tire shops, as well as technicians, you will more often than not hear that tires should be rotated on a regular basis regardless of driving habits. there are a number of different ways to rotate your tires, all of which are acceptable for any drivetrain. basically, whichever you choose, be consistant and do it the same way every time. with proper alignment, balance, and tire pressure, a simple front to back rotation is all that is necessary, but to each their own. i personally rotate my tires every oil change, which may not be desirable for people who have to pay to have this done, but in reality, just keep a regular schedule (3-6k miles) and rotate the same way every time and it should extend the life of your tires greatly.
