Comparing the width of a 225 tire on an 8.5" rim with +38 offset against the width of a 235 tire on an 8" rim with a +38 offset. Depending on tire make (of course), the numbers vary, but it should only be about a 1-2mm difference in fender clearance. If he doesn't rub if bottoming out right now, he shouldn't rub with lowering springs.

Thank you.

Also yes evo x wheels AND tires ok but they stated they had severe rubbing, so severe they had to roll with a baseball bat in a parking lot. so smaller tires = not so severe immediately but over time it could get bad. but well see like you said let him cross that bridge when he gets to it BUT i just wnat him to have a heads up, rolling isnt expensive your right but it varies by location and who you know.

i have a potentially noob question: when you gsr wheels on the RA (or any wider wheel for that matter), is there potential for causing extra stresses on the axles of the car?

if your going to drop be prepared to roll especially when using a tire that is 1" wider and probably a lower offset. Teins are low period even with stock wheels and tires they are low i would recommend running a 225 tire with a roll. i think teins + wider wheels = roll no matter what tire you run i could be wrong but pretty sure that 2.2 drop and 1.8 will need a roll

If you do get them rolled, I would make sure to find a quality place to get it done at. If you just find the cheapest place they will probably end up cracking your paint around the wheel well and you'll only have rust to show for it a few years down the road.

no problem, yeah i wnated wider tires over a drop. although i THINK i could get away without a roll on some springs that do a 1" or less drop, i think the TANABE springs are the ones ...but i would have to go turtle slow over bumps and avoid having any weight in the rear

i bought 20 pieces of grass and had them in the trunk yeah i was hitting the wheel well with the top of my tire alot on the way home with 18x8 on stock height its not a fender rub but a wheel well rub but i would have to assume that with a 2" drop the fenders would start getting into contact.

If you want to lower your car without rolling fenders on 18's you need the rims offset in the +40 to +45 range. Also need a 225/40/18 series tire (which throws the speed off).

I say roll the fenders and pull them alittle. Then you can do 225/45/18 and +35 to +38 on a lowered car with ease.

With a 2" drop the Tire/wheels will roll the fender for you!! lol!

18x8 +35 offset
225/45/18 tire

They rub with 3 people in the backseat. No rubbing with with me and front passenger. If I went to a lower profile tire 40series it would still rub with people in back because of the offset. So either way I would need to roll it. Which I plan to roll the fender and lower the car after the winter.

well the rims im getting have a 46 offset just how much will rolling the fenders cost about? and i barely ever have ppl in he back seat anywa..and im not into have a crazy system with subs etc(no more) so i dont have to worry about that..but i think rolling the fenders will be safer and also give the car a meaner look
