Tires comparable to Neova AD08

To start I'd like to say these tires are fantastic. They are a great dual purpose tire for those who enjoy a spirited daily drive, and an occasional track day. I was disappointed to hear from my local tire shop that these will be discontinued, however replaced with the Neova AD08R (which I'm certain is the exact same tire).

This summer I will have to buy new tires and was wondering what other tires out there are comparable to these. So far I've also looked at Toyo Proxes R1R. I'm looking to buy something that'll offer the same quality and performance as the Neovas, but hopefully at a better price.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a summer tire that's good for daily driving and the occasional track day?

The toyos are crap if you want a much cheaper tyre with the same kinda grip as the ADO8 I suggest you try the Hankook Z222 RS-3 they are a great tyre!

What makes the Toyos so crappy?

Their price compared to the Hankooks. They also wont last as long as the hankooks, they have less grip than the Hankooks they make alot more noise too.. Less wet grip. Honesty they are inferior in everyway to the Hankooks

The AD08 is very civil on the street and have decent tread life considering their 180 rating. That said, they are a bit dated and no longer hang with the rest of the pack in term of all out performance.

The new benchmarks really are the Hankook RS3 and the Dunlop ZII Star Spec. Take your pick, the performance per dollar for either of these tires is staggering.

There are some exciting new tires coming in 2015, in particular the Bridgestone RE-71R and Kumho V720. I am sure we will see some head to head results in the next month or two. The RS-71R are already on tirerack, and I think the V720 will be out any day now.

all of those are great tires, but forget the khumo.

These federals will provide comparable grip, but a bit less than the rs-3 and ad08's. They're a step up from nt05's.

Thanks for the input everyone. The reason I love AD08 so much was on a track day last fall, it was 5 degrees Celsius and pouring rain. Yet the AD08 grip held strong.
The Potenza RE-71R actually did catch my eye while shopping. Do the RS3 and Direzza ZII Star Spec have a strong wet grip as well? That is a big selling point for me right now.

Yes. On a hot hot day, especially if you overheat the tires, the RS-3's will shine as they give no ****s how hot they are. The AD08 will not behave well if you overheat them. Something that is common for 245 sizes or 500 whp track cars even on 265's.

My vote is if money is no issue, get the ad08 ($1500). If you'd like to save a few hundred, rs-3's beat everything else around the 1200 price point. If 1200 is still a bit much for you, skip the nt05 ($900) and go for the federal 595 RSR at $500.

I decided to try the brand new Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R. The local shop was able to deliver them much faster than any of my other choices, and I'm excited to try out something new. Once the weather gets warmer I'll be thrilled to try them out on the twistys, and can let y'all know how they hold up to the Neova AD08.
