this front calipers WILL NOT clear XXR 551s in a 18x8.75" +36, the spokes are too thick by about 8-10mm

i happened to have some junk 5mm spacers laying around and used them to see what i need to do to make them fit... 5mm wasn't enuf but 10mm was more then enuf, so i'm thinking 8mm will be right on the money

so along with this i'll be hunting for some proper spacers and extended studs to make this work... or trying to sell my new rims to get something that will work lol

i'll update when i get it to work

PS thanks for the kit drew, i can't wait to get this thing rolling and stopping in a hurry
Thanks for the input! I'll be sure to add these to the "fits/doesn't fit" list. I am actually surprised that they do not clear, though. What offset do you have? I had the XXR 522 (previous generation 551) in 19x8.5" +38, and they cleared, albiet barely. They do have very strange spoke geometry near the hub, though. When I switched over to my Work wheels, my caliper face clearance went from about 2mm to over 20mm.

18x8.75 +36

What else is on the no fit list?

Yeah the spoke section near the hub is quite a bit thicker then it is towards the rim...

Like xxr left extra material during casting, Almost thinking about machining the section that doesnt clear

But not sure how much effect on structural integegrity of the spokes it'll have, theres still plenty material left even if i had a shop machine off a 8-10mm spot

The rear how ever has tons of room an looks great lol

Are you still doing these kits? Just found out that the mrt bbk isn't being made anymore and the rotors were custom made (different offset to evo X) so I'm stuck now as need new rotors!

I installed mine in December and so far they have been amazing. Drew did a superb job putting this kit together, you will not be disappointed

Can anyone tell me why it doesn't fit the Evo X? And is it possible way to make it fit?

Me being daft, would suggest that the fella above your post might be possible to, um, get a message through, so to speak. HIS last login was 2 days ago, and if he would take it on him self to act as a carrying pigeon, i'm sure the message would get there swiftly...

Hey Drew, (or anyone else with an opinion that they would like to share) completely out of the blue. Would you happen to know what a matching rear end would look like?
Nothing quite like putting a nice big freesh-painted caliper up front, and having the ugly beaten, tiiiiny red caliper in the rear...
B!
