AMs intercooler/ UICP compatbility

So i tried searching for this and i've been roaming around the forums for about a week now but still don't have a definite answer for what im looking for. I have finally gathered up enough money to purchase a new intercooler and was looking at the ETS 3.5" or the AMS one. My only question is for the AMS intercooler i only see guys runing the AMS UICP with it. I was actually wondering if other aftermarket IC pipes like the UR and Nisei ones would work fine with it aswell? I know it might be common sense since their all about the same but everyone i see with the UR IC pipes is running a stock evo X IC and the AMS intercooler with the AMS UICP. I just find it a bit harsh to throw $299.95 on a AMS UICP when you can get a UR one for about 170 and save quite a bit for other mods. Any help would be greatly Appreciated

aftermarket pipes should work with different FMIC, simply because if company "a's" pipes only worked with their FMIC they would have to state that fact i assume,

i'm looking at doing that same getting an anodized ETS FMIC for less then UR or AMS just plain finish FMIC....and UR pipes, simply to save cash for other bits that i have to spend the extra cash on... like an AMS intake and mini battery kit

Thanks for the quick reply! Thats the route i was looking into the ETS 3.5" for the Evo X is 100 bucks cheaper and with the UR pipes the whole kit doesn't come out to be to bad. The only reason i was looking at AMS was because alot of people ran it and they had one specifically for the RA. But from what i've hear the Evo X IC bolts up pretty easily to the RA.
