Help!!! Can't go over 20 pounds of boost.

Hi

I need your input. Today I went to Akuma Motorsport to get dyno tune. John from Akuma run few runs on the dyno then came up to me and asked me if I have a MBC installed and if bought this car brand new or used. I told him that I never installed MBC and I bought the car used back in February. When I asked him what is the problem he said that boost only goes up to 20 lbs. and then it drops. I only have few mods on the car:
UR down pipe
UR Hi flow cat
Magnaflow cat back
K&N drop in
UR upper IC pipe
Evo X IC
Evo X lower IC pipe
StageII Cobb 93 octane.

With all this mods John was only able to tune my car so it reached 276 TQ and 237 HP. I know that John from Akuma is probably one of the best tuners in the country. So the only option is there is something wrong with my car.
Suggestions please

Is there an upgraded boost pill? The lack of one (EDIT: the stock one) might make it difficult to reach 20psi. IIRC the stock boost pill at 100% WGDC was like 18-20 psi?
One guess as to who would know best :enterstageleft: lol

I never checked the boost pill. Are you suggesting that the boost pill could actually be missing?

Sorry, let me rephrase, that came out wrong. Not that the pill is missing, but that the stock pill has not been upgraded. Or better yet, put in a 3-port and then you know for sure.

100% WGDC means maxed out. Check old posts from razorlab to see what stock RA did for boost when tuned.
EDIT: just checked, 18.5psi. so your higher flowing exhaust is helping but sounds like you need either A) new boost pill or B) 3-port

I will order boost pill tomorrow. Just to try I will insert it and see if I can produce more boost. If yes I will remove and take it to Akuma beg for discount on second tune.

Retunes are always cheaper, most the hard work was done on the first one.

Confirmed! With AP stage 2 and stock pill I was running right at 20lbs max, when I switched it to the AMS boost pill, and got a new tune, I started running 27lbs max. BTW, that was when I still had the stock RA turbo.

What do you mean when you said returns?

After i install the Boos Pill (for just a one trail run around the block) I will monitor it with Cobb and AFR gauge. Thanks for all you help. I really appreciate it.

Ahh damn, I was planning on going to Akuma for a tune too. Let us know if you get your issue resolved.

would it hurt running the max boost with a boost pill full time, daily driven?
