i got the reflash done too and my tarmac/gravel/snow indication would flash once in a while while im driving and when it flashes it wouldnt allow me to switch mode....are you experiencing this too after ther reflash?
and besides the possible cause of the AWC service required light that Skyline559 suggested (loose sensor), it could also be the relay in the fuse box...that's what happened to me, dealer ran some tests on the pump and it was fine and replaced the relay which is a $12 part.

AFter the AWC ECU TSB flash, the TARMAC/GRAVEL/SNOW light flashed a couple of times ( about 4 times) and then would stay on as if normal. Car drives fine.
All signs are pointing to the ACD pump failure Unfortuntely I'm out of warranty by a good 5 months and at 68k mark that the SERVICE REQURIED message first appeared. Don't know what to do other then having the car scanned again.
Check the TLC posts, suprPHREAK has a pretty detailed account of what he did.
I wonder what would happen if my car is driven as is...

When did you change the transfer oil?
Are you still using the original battery?

Does the ACD have the correct fluid level?
I change my transfer oil at about half the time and mileage recommended in the severe maintenance schedule. It's not hard to do, and the fluid isn't expensive.

If you did the 48Km service in Scarb. Mitsu, then you should check your transfer oil again.
I replaced mine again at 68Km, it was dirty and dark; it did not look like the transfer oil has ever been changed.
Also I re-checked the transfer oil after 1Km and filled up another 0.1L.
There is a noticeable improvement in the car's handling. I hope this is not my imagination.

I have ACD warning since 63Km, but have no intention of fixing this.
This is not worth 2K.
I may get the rebuild kit from ACD tuning if I can find a mechanic willing to help me rebuilding it.

Because the ambient temp yesterday afternoon was about 28C (82F), the TARMAC symbol didn't come on at all during my drive!

Now I have mine replaced every year, or 12,000km.

the tank in the trunk is for the acd pump. This fluid should never be serviced unless the system is opened for service. If your low on this fluid I would believe there is a problem with your pump as in leaking and probably not working correctly. The fluid I believe is diamond atf fluid. The transfer case fluid is totally different and uses the diaqueen lsd fluid. This fluid should be changed every 15k miles for severe use and 30k for normal as goes the same for the rear diff.
