Crak, Maybe you can put a table in your thread of the car year, market, rom id, and if they get LC or not.

User Year Market ROM ID S-Sport Launch Control TCU File

Can you also put the TCU rom file you used as well?

I am wondering the same thing, if there are seperate tables for normal and sport...where are the s-sport tables
There are only a couple tables for S-Sport, just like normal/sport. They are pretty much maxed out from the factory (unlike normal/sport) so not much to do there.

Is this the only thing we need, besides a laptop?

Yes, you do need the tool. You can get it for ~$800 on alibaba. In the future, I figure there will be a way to do it without, but we're a ways off from that.

also useful info

you can run MUT3 SW on windows7
it runs on Internet Explorer (yes, i know!)
before you run MUT3 - quit any IE windows you have open
- put your IE into Compatibility Mode.

In W7 it will error when you load up MUT3. it does for me anyways. just kill the error popup and off you go

when you first connect the VCI - wait a while - it will need to update the VCI firmware in some cases. just let the MUT3 S/W do it's thing. look on the VCI screen for details of what it's doing before you go any further

Crak - the car i flashed was a 2009 car. but it already had a 2010 rom on it (as i had already tuned it). i manually entered a bogus VIN - and that worked too. it's more the chassis code part that i suspect determines what files it wants to use.
i wonder whether, if you manually input a VIN from say a 2011 or 2010 car into a 2009, will it load the corresponding RomID onto the ecu? I'll have a play down the track with this.

edit - i used B001 also. it seems to be a universal evo SST "rom" as best i can gather. I'm assuming it's the latest logic, too.

^^ my suggestion would be to try entering a 2010 VIN manually. and then once the car is flashed, ecuflash a 2010 RA rom onto it. and hope for the best.

FYI, for anyone trying to download, press the 'blue' DOWNLOAD button. The green one tries to drop an iLivid.exe file on the laptop (crap we don't want).
