I'm trying to get a survey of what year/tcu version effects RA with the horrible rev hunting. In hopes to shad some light why some RA aren't effected by this rev hunting.

Guys I have to revise my status on Rev hunting.

I DO get it. Someone will have to change the list on the 1st post.

I only really noticed when I got my exhaust changed though.

It however only happens in 6th gear 60km (38 miles) in NORMAL MODE when the transmission is cold.

After the TCU flash my car exhibited the following changes:

1. In AUTO NORMAL mode the car will not switch to 6th gear at 60km anymore. It used to before the TCU flash but it will only change to 6th at 70km now.

2. I get a "rev hop" at 2500rpm 4th gear. If on high load/low speed (going up a hill for example) in 4th gear only it will rev freely for a second and then settle down immediately. It only happens once a day.

3. If I use 6th gear at 60km in Sport or SSport mode I DON'T get rev hunting once the trans oil is at operating temp.

So is anyone keeping track of this anymore? I'm still on the fence if I want to do the MR flash because of this Rev hunt issue.

Another Member on here recently said he had better luck using the TCU Flash with the ID# having the last 4 characters as B151 rather than the B001 that's being used by the people who were polled in first post of this thread.

The rev hunt is minimal at best and not even noticeable (not a 'surge' or a buck') and you would have to watch the Tach to know it is happening.


Rev hunt does not hurt anything/impact reliability.
