Ralliart & Evo X MR TC-SST Flash Testers

****TESTERS NEEDED****

I have been working diligently over the past few months trying to refine and test the flash capabilities of the Ralliart and Evo X MR TC-SST. I have done enough personal testing to be sure that the manual I've developed works as designed, but as with anything, since I've developed it I know that it needs to be "dummy-proofed" to make sure that all bases are covered. That's where I need your help. Each person identified will be given a set of instructions and a test methodology sheet that fits their specific vehicle. We need to identify as many variables as possible. The person needs to be versed on EcuFlash and it's tuning capabilities (Don't worry we won't be asking you to change any tuned settings, just be able to read them) and have an understanding of flashing.
There is always a risk when playing with TCU's and ECU's. I have personally tested multiple different failure methods on my own Ralliart and the TCU is a very robust system.

In order to participate I am requesting that you send a PM to me with your
Name :
Make :
Model :
TCU #: If unsure, just use handy chart and we will validate prior to testing
ECU #:
PC OS:
Country of Origin:

I will never ask for VIN information and I will not share any information unless pertinent to testing and providing instructions.

We have identified multiple flashes for the Evo X and Ralliart:

What are your requirements to qualify for the test, and what exactly is being tested here? Sorry if I'm asking obvious questions, but the body of the original post doesn't seem to answer either of these.

I'm interested as well!!! Would be cool to be able to set things up for it with ECUFlash with this also be setting it up for S-Sport and launch control?

There are multiple aspects that need to tested. First, yes this will give Ralliarts S-Sport and Launch Control using Tactrix. The requirements are pretty simple, Evo X or Ralliart with SST and willing to spend some time reading and flashing. The more variations in vehicles the better the testing.

#1. The flash/Re-Flash method. (Flash from A749 to B001 and back....etc)
I have written instructions to flash USDM, EDM and JDM TC-SSTs. But my only "test" car is my own which is a USDM 2010 Ralliart. Via PM I have been able to walk someone from Brazil through a flash on their vehicle which worked perfectly. The instructions for each set (USDM, EDM and JDM) all need to be fully tested.

#2. TCU vs. ECU Compatibility.
We have noticed that some versions of TCU and ECU don't play well together. We have already identified 1 ROM that doesn't like being upgraded. An Evo X with 52690019 2008 USDM Lancer Evolution X SST was flashed from A749 to B001 and it caused it to have a CEL. The car performed perfectly fine but the CEL would just stay on the car no matter how many times it was cleared. The fix was to upgrade the ECU to 52690021 2008 USDM Lancer Evolution X SST. Functionally the vehicle was fine and ran great but somewhere there is a direct correlation between the ECU and TCU files that didn't match.

#3. Clutch Pressures; Shift Points; (Overall Butt Dyno)
Pretty self explanatory. What's the differences between the TCU maps.

#4. Teach-In Procedures
Same instructions as the flash procedures but refine whether it's actually required on a reflash/flash or just good practice.

I hope this has answered most of your questions.

The ultimate goal is to verify the instructions for flashing/re-flashing work as designed and to help pave the way for further development on TCU .cff file modification and tuning.

****We have already discovered that the clutch pressure is actually backwards from originally thought. Normal produces more clutch pressure according to the TCU than Sport and S-Sport****

Wait, I can get S-Sport without going to the stealership...and the worst thing that can happen is I can blow up my $5k transmission?

I'M IN!

The TC-SST was designed with S-Sport. They chose not to equip the Ralliart with it. I've been running it from January and nothing wrong at all and many have had it longer. The biggest risk could be bricking the TCU.....and trust me I tried. It's actually quite hard to do.

I'm still here. The testing worksheets are almost done and I have set aside a repository for all files and configurations tools required. My goal is for the manual and testing parameters to be sent out on Friday of next week. Hopefully this will give everyone the time to test and play before the end of the month. I seriously want to make this completely free for the community.

I am in Orlando and am willing to help anyone get this done. There are a few RA owners around here that I am sure are interested in doing this.
