Ralliart & Evo X MR TC-SST Beta Testing. Flash with Tactrix
#61
Wow!
I have a stock 2011 ralliart other than an Injen UIC and an Evo X
bov and I decided to flash S-sport mode on my car. Works absolutely perfect. Launch control is incredible! Thanks for the write up!
Oh and now I also run the newest version 3 GST base flash. Car has quite the get up and go now!

I did the flash of my AUDM 2009 Ralliart to 2011 Evo SST. S-Sport enabled
I love how it hangs on to 5th at 60kmh. I didn't notice any difference in the rev-hang - mine has always done it in Normal mode and a little in sport. More testing to come. I'm not sure I need to do the Teach In thing - seams to work just fine out of the box.
Huge thanks to the author of the guide - made it as simple as possible and the upgrade worked first time. Just when I was thinking of getting a new car, you have breathed new life into my 5 year old Ralliart.

I got it working on my car. Many thanks to vaqusis for writing this guide, and everyone else who's helped in the development.
S-sport shifts I feel are what the SST should always shift like. Extremely quick and snappy. I've tried two launches using LC, I'm trying to reserve its use sparingly as I hear it can be quite harsh on the drivetrain - and I just had my transmission rebuilt by Mitsubishi 2 months ago.
Looking back, I am quite perplexed at why so many things are dumbed down and/or disabled on the Ralliart as they come stock from Mitsubishi. GST ECU basemaps liven up the engine, Evo X SST flash livens up the transmission.
On the downside, I can confirm revhunt at ~2krpm in 6th. It's not so bad, in all honestly I only noticed it because I was looking for it (based on reading others experiences). If I had not known, it would probably seem perfectly fine to me.
Is it still the case of equivalent model year Evo X firmware being most suited to the Ralliart? There is no 'optimal' or 'ideal' firmware/flash file to use? Or should I experiment with flashing the different model years and trying to pick subtle differences between them?

Sounds like a great question to ask Cobb. That is why people buy Cobb APs, right? Because they support their product and their customers? Those that don't care about official support or are happy to use a forum, would probably use the GST BaseMaps... If Cobb haven't unlocked the SST yet, then they had better lift their game.

I have a 2011 Ralliart flashed the TCU with S-Sport and it was very easy following the guide, we did try on windows 8 but passthrucan would not even open... Ended up using windows 7 32bit and everything was smooth from there.
The shifts feel great, it shifts at about 7k in SS and LC worked perfectly the first time, revved up to about 5250rpm and launched... However I tried my old method to launch of tap tap floor it, it is harder to time but it felt like a better launch.
Lastly I hear a whining sound on deceleration in S-Sport in 2nd gear only, anyone else hearing anything like this?

I hear that without the flash. Apparently it's normal.

How long does the flash take on average for everyone?
my battery makes it thru reflashing with my AP just wondering if this is a longer process or not for my batterys sake and my sanity if it seems to be taking a couple minutes haha
1) is all we need to go back to stock the 8631b002 cff & flpart files? you know for that time you might need to go back to stock?
2) to be clear we only change the value in pink to 8631A860 and the value in orange to 8631A8600A... but we don't change the values in red correct?

3) Also is what it should look like after adding the files to the directories? i'm really only wondering about the extra "generic files" in the 3rd picture

Ok thank you I have never heard it before, was a little worried but maybe because I have low mileage it's not too loud in sport but in s-sport it is very noticeable.
I would also like to be able to revert back to a stock TCU flash if there are any stock TCU "maps" floating around maybe we could add them to the sticky.

I've driven ~750 miles since I flashed my '11 RA. I'm running Cobb AccessPort 3.00 Stage 1 93 map. I don't have rev hunt in any gear or transmission mode. The only thing I noticed from stock SST ROM is that it'll disengage clutches quicker and at a higher RPM when slowing down which can sometimes lead to a little jerky re-engagement when accelerating. The transmission whine is normal and I've had it on both my original and replacement SST. Flashing took about 5-10 minutes.

The flash takes about 7 - 9 minutes. Plenty of time. About the same as the cobb.
Having the B002 and flpart will allow you to go back to stock.
To change the file orange and pink are the only changes. They need to reflect your vehicles current information.

You can ignore the generic file. Everyone has it. It's not anything that we need.
