Transmission problems

Good evening people,

I have a 2004 Ralliart and I have a question maybe you guys can you help me with information about it.
My Ralliart consumes a lot of gas, I notice that when I driving around 70 MPH the RPM are at 3,000.
My questios is, this is normal for this type of lancer? Is an automatic transmission and shift all 4 gears without any problems. but it runs the RPMS like that.
Any info is wellcome!!

Lancers aren't known for great milage. I have a 2010 Ralliart and it gets 20-21 mpg if I'm easy on it. Also runs about 3k at 75

Like Brandon said, gas mileage is not the Lancer's strong point. My 2010 GTS gets about 25MPG, maybe 30 if I really baby it. My 2014 Ralliart gets about 20MPG. If I stay out of boost, I can usually get to 25MPG during smooth, level highway driving. One time I even averaged 30, but that was only one time. If I'm flooring it around town and having fun, it doesn't even get into the teens.. About 3K RPM is normal at highway speeds, that's just how our cars are geared.
