DIY HID Lighting

Does anyone have any instructions on installing HID lighting kit for a 09 RA. I am not looking for the wiring instructions. I am looking for what I need to remove & how in order to get access to the bulbs.

I know with our car because of the drl, u need a relay harness I think. I just bought a kit off a local guy here on the forums that had everything, and was just plug n play. There's threads on here all about it.

I don't really care about the DRLs. I think I did not get a harness with my kit. My problem is not how to wire everything properly (yet), but more like, how can I get to the bulbs.

The first thing that needs to happen is to disconnect the negative terminal on a battery. On a 'normal' car, that's not a problem, because everything is open. The problem that I encountered was that there is a plastic piece on top of the battery that feeds into the intake. I am not sure how to remove it. Second, on the left there is practically no room to get my hand in. What can be removed there to allow more space. Its almost the same on the right.

You have to have the relay harness otherwise your DRL's cause the HID's to flicker and not work correctly

As stated above its jus like replacing the bulb. All you have to do is find a place to put the ballast. Also yes you will need to stop the flicker. You have two options; get the harness from Jrox to eliminate the DRL completely or get a relay from 02-lancer-es to have the HID's become the DRL's.

You need to contact Jrox. I have his DRL Disable harness. I have had zero problems with it for over a year and half.

I can turn on and off the headlights with no problems.

Are you using this in conjunction with a HID kit?
