How to: Replace Blower Motor and Blower Motor Resistor

How to: Replace Blower Motor and Blower Motor Resistor

No heat or air blowing from the dashboard, here is my How To replace the blower motor fan and Blower Motor Resistor. Performed on a 2009 Ralliart. Approx Time to complete 25 minutes.
Tools Needed:
-Stubby #2 Phillips Screw Driver
-Small flat head screw driver
-Knee Pads

Tools Needed

Parts Needed/Used:
-FRAM CF10140 Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter

-Wells JA1807 HVAC Blower Motor Resistor
Amazon Amazon
-TYC 700239 Replacement Blower Assembly
Amazon Amazon


This is includes changing the cabin air filter, shown here in this link:

Step 1) Remove your Glove Box (Noted in the link above)

Removed Glove Box

Step 2) Remove Access Panel -> Remove 2 Plastic Panel Inserts Clips
-Pop Out the 2 Panel Clips, using the small flat head Screw driver. (Orange Arrows) The panel should be loose to remove and allow access to the fan motor and fan resistor now.(Green Highlight)

Remove Panel

Step 3) Remove Blower Motor Resistor
-Remove the 2 screws (Orange Arrows) Unplug the Connector to the resistor, done by hand (Green Highlight) This is where the stubby screwdriver is NEEDED.

Remove Resistor

Step 4) Remove the Fan Blower Motor
-Remove the 3 Phillips Screws, stubby or standard screw driver can be used. (Orange Highlighted) Unplug the Fan Motor Connector, done by hand. (Green Highlighter) Remove clear plastic flex tube from blower motor, done by hand. (Red Arrow)

Remove Blower Motor Fan

Step 5) Replace Blower Motor with New Part & Blower Motor Resistor with New Part
-Plug Everything back in and screw it all back into place.

New Parts, Plugged In & Screwed back into place.

Step 6) Replace Access Panel
- Put Access Panel Back into place that was removed in Step 2
- Insert 2 Clips to hold panel into place

Step 7) Insert New Cabin Airfilter & Install Cabin Airfilter Cover - Noted here:

Step 8) Reinstall Glove Box
- Snap Glove Box into place & reinstall the glove box shock.

Snap Glove Box into Place

Install the Glove Box Shock

Put your Stuff back in the Glove Box. Done.

Step 9) Test Everything out, and you should be good to go.

Step 10) Drink a Beer and Clean Up.

2010 Mitsubishi es lancer I replace blower motor and resistor still not working, any idea whats can the problem be
