Stock MMCS & iPod integration

Hey,

I'm researching various methods of integrating iPod/iPhone into the stock rockford fosgate system (w. satnav, e.g. MMCS). I have done a search on many Mitsu forums, but I haven't found a satisfactory answer. I know of aux cables and various FM transmitters, but what I want is the ability to change tracks from the MMCS unit or steering wheel controls etc. I.e. iPod integration.

So far I have only come up with these:

http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/catalog/?section=683 (I got the link from the OEM representative at Rockford Fosgate). However, when I contacted the seller they said it is only an AUX cable and doesn't offer any integration per se. I don't know if this is the case or not, the price seems awfully steep.

http://www.resourceit.com.au/MMCS/products.htm (Australian vendor), they offer full iPod integration with MFSW controls etc. I'm not sure if the Australian version of the head unit is the same as in US / Europe though (I know it is a Kenwood based (MXDZ07MM2) unit) I think it is this kit that is used in this video:

Anyone know what kinds of head units the US/Euro versions use? I want those controls too :(

I would be interested in this as well (although I don't have navigation), as I think it is ridiculous that in 2010 a "premium" sound system in a $30k car doesn't have iPod controls or USB input.

So, anyone have a good solution for iPod integration with the MMCS?
