Unless the puddles were way deeper than the one pictured, or he stopped in one, he wouldn't run into any issues.
People freak out way too much around water with a CAI.

You need to have the filter pretty much submerged to hydrolock a motor. But it's defintly possible. Probably not so likely with our cars since the filter sits up in the engine bay.

Puddles weren't very deep and I've installed a plastic piece on the inside of the front part of the inner fender to somewhat block the vents that are there. This way when it rains or screwing off like in the picture water won't enter through the vents from the tire.

well im glad you planned for it. I still think ams or UR might have suited you better for safety reasons.
