So I took a chainsaw to my front bumper today...

I think this is the picture with the most sunlight that I have...
Thanks! I just used the cheapest model Dremel.
I do have black mesh material covering the opening to keep my new radiator and front mount intact.
The mesh grill is aluminum that came painted black but I coated it with plastidip to protect it.
I don't think there's any structural weakness from doing this because I don't think the center plastic part of the bumper provides much chassis bracing.
My only real concern now is that the grill does not sit completely flush with the top corners of the bumper. It's not very noticeable but I'm very **** about my car. I have a Proton Inspira front bumper waiting to go on so I think I'll be selling this one soon.

Thanks! Everywhere I go people comment on my flares. With as many people who have asked me where I bought them, I think they're going to be the next big thing in the Lancer scene. Here's where I bought mine:

They run a bit small but you can stretch them out a bit as you're installing them.
I would probably charge $300 to try to recoup some of the money spent on the tools and materials (Dremel, drill, grill material, screws and bolts, etc.) I would say the turnaround time would be about 3 days.
I would probably need about an $80 deposit to start so I can order more grill material.
Hey man, how’s it going? I posted the link to those flares up above. I might sell my bumper in about a month, but it may be easier if I just mod your existing bumper. Mine has a hairline crack on the bottom that I have held together with zip tie stitches. (You can kind of see it in the pics.) Yours might be in better condition...
Haha I didn't think that's what you meant, I just wasn't sure what you were referring to. As far as that goes the bumper is fine, especially since the grill mesh itself is solid aluminum and connects the various ends of the opening.
