Question CF Hood - Restore???

I was thinking of either restoring or getting a new hood. Please let me know what you think. I has scratches, small cracks, and a lot of fading.

I bought one for my car that was way more trashed than that one and now it looks almost new. Wet sand, buff, and polish. Finish with a clay bar or wax and good as new.

My car is going to the body shop on Monday for other stuff. Was thinking of having them do that but I wanted other opinions to see if it was worth it. I plan to do all the sanding and prepping myself.

wet sand using 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, and finally 3000. 3000 will make it way faster and easier to buff. the 3000 grit is so fine that you can even spray clear without buffing and it still looks glassy wet!

Yea after a little the wet look fades if u dont clear it, but i just use a little wax on it after washing the car and it keeps it nice and shiny.

I dont know about that 3000 grit though, aslong as you do a good job with the 2000, the buffing should go smoothly.

It was worth it for me when I had a CF hood....the body shop only charged me 100 to wet sand and buff everything out and polish....no reclear needed on mine and it looked great until I put my oem one back on.

I had a Seibon CF OEM Style Hood.
