Hi everyone. My name is Charming (yes that is my real first name lol) I just purchased a 2011 Lancer RA for my husband who has always wanted an Evo (this is the closest we could get to an Evo within our budget) It has 122k miles and the guy we bought it from bought it when it had 9k miles on it from a dealership in Long Island​​​​​​. The gut we got it from is a 46 year old single dad and we checked with our local dealership who confirmed all regular, scheduled, and recommend maintenance has always been done. The car currently is tuned to 299 hp. He kept it meticulous. I think we got a pretty good deal for $8000. Problem is my husband knows Honda's. He never bothered to learn about the Lancer's because he figured he would never own one. Now he does and we are both incredibly intimidated not knowing anything about these cars. Any advice for us about owning one of these beautiful cars would be greatly appreciated. I'll get photos of it up soon. TIA

Change the trans fluid & filter religiously after every 20-25k miles. USE OEM fluids, expect to pay $600-$700. Pay a good shop known for Mitsu's to do it. Most other things can be handled as they come up.

My suggestion would be to read through the sticked threads in this forum as there's lots of useful info in there. If you or your husband have Facebook I would suggest joining our Ralliart Revolution (RA Revolution) page over there where we have a lot of information as well and pretty much everyone responds fairly quickly to most questions you may have.
