Yes just for the front only. But its easier to just put the gear at 12 oclock and see which way it wants to fall.

Why would they say that it is over-tightened motor mounts...

I've heard this before i think because the vibrations can travel threw the mounts to the frame thus causing a vibration? Not sure but it does sound likely but not the case here.. Trust me I know from experience I did my timing belt about three times trying to figure out wht was off it ended up being the front balance shaft aka oil pump.. screwdriver method ftw!

THIS!

I honestly really trusted this shop since 2001 when I first went there which is why I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Looks like they've hired new mechanics.. I'm not the only one that has recently had issues with them.

Thanks again Anarchy99 and CrAnSwIcK, I'll be updating this thread with a "you guys were spot on" hopefully on Monday.

nc_bboy, let us know if this is the case with your ralliart too.

Well I'm not a vibrations expert but I know the mechanics of how they would travel

I mean it's just BS to give that as an excuse. Anyone that has experienced broken mounts or solid mounts knows what type of vibrations to expect on a car, especially on idle and not at 5k rpms.

The sad thing is the dumb**** mechanic will take in the car correct the balance shaft issue and just say it was that your windshield washer fluid canister was empty and causing vibration.

Lmao yeah I can't argue with you there Just trying to give them the benefit of the doubt... One of the auto teachers at my school suggested it when I had my problem he said "it could be a loose mount or a over torqued mount" I looked at him like he was crazy cause I have felt solid mounts and broken mounts.. Not sure if it's in the book or from experience but definitely sounds like bs..

Thank you all again! It's finally fixed thanks to you guys.

It went down like this..
I get to the shop, the owner says his mechanic told him it can't be 360 degrees off.. only as far as 355. I explain to him about what's in the youtube video showing how to adjust that sprocket and he says, that's interesting, I'll have my mechanic take it apart and verify this.

I get a call later saying it's done. He even sent me a video showing how he adjusted it on my car, I guess as proof to me that it's done the way I wanted it to. Mechanic tells me that he doesn't think it's fixed. He says he had it in the right position the first time around. I just nod and check.. sure enough, it's fixed.

The thing is that how did he know it was right the first time around if he didn't know about this?! In either case, I thanked them and went on my way.

I had my 60k done and now I have a vibration at high rpms.. I took it to a different shop and the guy at the new shop automatically said it was due to the 60k job done, either tensioner is to tight or its off timing so now I'm taking it to the guy who checked it after the 60k bcuz I just want it fixed.

I hope you get it fixed. I showed the shop this video and it helped.

I think it's funny when you tell a mechanic the sprocket can be off 360 degrees and they look at you like your stupid like there's no way it can be off 360

Getting this particular job done at a genuine Mitsu dealership is looking like a real smart choice. Totally worth the extra little bit of coin.

I was looking at roughly $3,000 going through the stealership versus the $2,000 I paid this shop. (timing belt job, clutch/flywheel, all motor and transmission mounts)

In their defense, they mostly work on american muscle and boost/lift trucks but I have seen many imports there. They boosted a ralliart about 3 or 4 months ago which sealed the deal for me.
