2009 Lancer Ralliart - GST Basemap
Hi all.
Here are the latest Base Map beta versions!
v30.005 Base Map (pre-release) ZIP
Some important points to note...
- When upshifting at part throttle above 4500rpm, you should notice a lot less of the slippy-shift rubbish. The Lower Boundary Timing Map has been tweaked so that torque drops off in that region during upshift. It helps the SST do its job better. You should feel it as a clearly defined upshift start/finish. Do be aware that the SST treats 1st->2nd slightly differently to the rest... but that shift is a lot better too.
- You now have a bit of extra knock prevention built in. While spooling up fast (eg. 4000rpm WOT), there is now a timing tweak that will retard spark by an extra 1 degree. It will cease to have any effect around the time you've reached peak boost. You won't notice it from the drivers seat, but you should see less spool-up knock. Yay for less knock.
- There are now TBE and TBE_AEM versions of the AUS/EDM Base Maps. These didn't exist before. They are untested at this time. Contact me if you intend to trial these.
- Some ROM naming conventions are slightly different. All ROM naming styles should now be consistent.
- I've rationalised a couple of DTC P0139 flag settings. As of now, all TBE/TBE_AEM Base Maps have P0139 disabled. Non-TBE Base Maps won't. This is as it should be.
- "1st Gear TPS Limit" has a momentary "blip" to 50% at 1500rpm. This seems to get the clutch hooking up a little better when going WOT from idle, stationary. This is a bit experimental
. If you try this out with logging enabled, please let me know if your TPS behaves itself in 1st gear - if your foot is all the way down, TPS should be at WOT all the way above 1500rpm.
Please feel free to ask questions.
It's worth noting... yes, yes, this has a "v30" number on it. No, no, that don't mean diddly... so keep your panties on.
They are NOT official releases from Bryan - not until he pores over them, okays the work, uploads it and links to it from the first post. That's not the case at all. In fact, these latest Base Maps are just a couple of minor tweaks ahead of "v27.024_beta_balance_21". It's still just my spun-off beta development... with a giddily optimistic "pre-release v30" name.
Anyway, it doesn't matter what it's called. This tune rocks on my own RA. The car has got progressively more fun to drive each month I've owned it... and this map is the icing on the cake. I've pretty much run out of things to tweak, so it's GOT to be finished now?... hasn't it?...
Cheers,
Rich

Download the 56940007 XML for 2011 USDM Ralliart. Put it in your EcuFlash "rommetadata/mitsubishi/lancer" directory.
Restart EcuFlash.
Pray.

You don't need the Mitsu Reflash Adapter.
But do get the OBD extension cable (and the microSD card). Those are very useful for 24/7 logging!
If it only has 34 miles on it, I'd suggest driving it stock for a while before reading/overwriting the ECU ROM. Make sure there aren't any surprises, etc. Maybe hold off until after the first service... just my 2c worth...

.But in all seriousness, i wouldnt want to hurt anything, is there a standard break in period for anything on the car? (sorry is this is a terribly noobish question, but i have NEVER owned a new car before. this is a first)

If you only plan on plugging in, flashing, removing, then there's no need for an OBD cable.
Your log wiles will never fill a whole card, hehe.
But that's just me. And I bought mine with some decent km on it, so what do I know?

Rich
Just installed v30 before my drive home from work and WOW are the shifts unbelievably faster. Like nearly-instant now all the way through. Going out and having some fun with the car tonight
Great job Rich & thanks again!

Thanks so much, thats what i thought. I thought the tactrix connected to the laptop with a usb cable?? Couldnt i just buy a longer one??? And i have several microsd's, how quickly would i run up a 16gb card? or would i not be able to run it up?? And yeah, it had 31 miles and then i test drove it. I need to wait for the cable to get here in the mail as well as the boost pill, so ill see how many miles i can rack on in a week

Flashed to v30 and I must say it's very nice to see less knock happening
even on 94 oct. hahaha.Cheers to Richard and Brian..
I'm more than willing to wait a little while, a day of driving and a little more than half a tank of gas and I'm at 200 miles. I know rich said wait until my first oil change as a guide but is there an actual recommendation from Mitsubishi? ? I would have asked at the dealership but my salesman was an old man and the tech there had a fit of confusion when he realized there was nowhere to mount my front license plate... and took him near a half hour to figure out a drill and screws would solve his problem. So I got the hell out of there ASAP.
