I wish I could own both honestly, the IX just has something about it. But I love my X and wouldn't trade it for a IX, I had looked seriously into it but couldn't get myself to make the jump.

Yeah, it took a bit of work to find the right color, but I think it came out great. Glad others like it as well!

They're REALLY fun to drive. So nimble and fast even bone stock. I drove my buddies VIII w/ 300awhp and NLTS and it felt faster than my X. It's insane.

eh, I used to auto-x in both. My buddy had a 500whp evo IX that I was consistently slower in then my measly 350whp X.

Now of course that car suffered from horrible turbo lag and didn't have enough grip to be able to control all that power, meaning after you finished fighting it to go in the direction you wanted to go you never ended up lined up properly for the corner.

Here's video of a "test and tune" day. I had numerous runs in both cars on the same day and same course. This was my fastest clean run in each car:
buddies 500whp ix:

My X (the faster time)

I also drove a near stock VIII when I was also mostly stock and was dumbfounded by how similar they drove and felt. I was expecting it to feel soo much lighter and nimbler like everyone always claims. I just have never felt that.

Damn, really? I feel like I can tell the difference. Might just be placebo. Both cars are fun to drive, it's just the 9 has that 'rare' factor I guess. They're not as common as the X's are locally.

I mean, I think the IX in the end is ultimately faster on an auto-x circuit simply due to the fact that it weighs 200lbs less.

What surprised me was how little of a difference I actually felt between the 2. The shifting felt identical, the way the engine revved, the engine tone, the other noises, how it behaved in corners, how it behaved when you exceeded the limits, how quickly it accelerated, how much gas you had to give it to get a response, when the turbo kicked in, how much of a delay there was in the turbo...

If I just were to read the forums I'd think there was a world of difference. I bet though that if there were a way to set it up so you couldn't tell from appearance which car you were driving that most people on the forums would have a hard time figuring it out just from feel of the car.

The problem is, most of the forums say one thing about either car and have never driven both. So the response is always going to be different. Also, the placebo effect I think also comes into play. If I had no Evo right now and I had to make a choice between the two, I'd go with a IX all day long. To me it just feels better driving it. Looks a little better too. Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder so that's personal opinion. But I do love my X, ****, I had 2. Creature comforts are very convenient and it handles like a dream. I love Evo's.

Is the front higher than the rear? Might be the angle.

Thanks. I'm still experimenting and trying to figure out how to take good pics. So glad to hear others like them.

It is slightly. The suspension is set to keep the oem rake.

The angle might also be exaggerating the look a bit, it is parked on a slight slope.

Correct, The front should look a tad higher to keep the car level with respect from front to rear. - these were actually guidelines per the install instructions of my DFV's. Car looks great BTW
