There's been quite a few discussion on this subject.
A 20G-9 turbo is a good performer at 24+psi.
If you stay below 24 psi and 91 oct. you will be disappointed.
My 2 cents.

What would a BR20G run with a IX? Any numbers with the IX? SInce it has a Better ECU with more resolution wouldn't we ba able to skip the AEM EMS and still get good numbers?

Is there a better version of the 20g coming out? Depends on what you are looking for. We are working on something now and it is on my car. My car ran 10.89 at 128.56 mph with it. Next week I am testing yet another version which we are hoping will be the final of this stage of the turbo. It will hopefully put my car to 500 whp on our dyno on C16. This will put the traps speeds with a bolt on turbo over 130 mph.

The turbo I am running right now is laggier than the 20g-9-5 we are using/selling currently. So we are all clear, the current 20g-9-5 is no slouch. With a LOT of cars now running under 11.50's and at 120+ mph trap speeds in full weight EVO's I'd say it is a proven performer. My car ran 11.20 at 124 mph. Trent's is running 11.20 at 122 mph on pump with alky, Trevor has gone 11.2 at 121 mph, Chris went 11.3 at 120 mph. There are more but those stick in my head.

The new version is going to spool a little slower and cost a little more. What we are shooting for is a stock appearing turbo, bolts to the stock manifold/02 housing, uses stock oil and water lines and will make 500 whp on our dyno.

GOOD GOD MAN! That's right up my alley! Would this new turbo be make decent power at 21-22psi on 93-octane as well? How would it compare to a White Rabbit?

Good to hear David. That is awesome news. I knew it was a new compressor wheel right after I heard you dyno numbers at the Shootout. The 20G-9-5 will only flow so much CFM, and with those new numbers you made and the extra MPH in the 1/4, there was no other option except NOS (which would be cheating at your own race) which I knew you wouldnt do. Sneaky, yes, Cheating no.

One question about the new turbo on your car, does it still use the 2 1/2" to 3" reducer at the end of your MAF pipe where it hooks to the turbo?

Brian

What were the 330' and 1/8 mile trap/et's on some of the 20G's? I've yet to run the 1/4 mile but I'm trapping around 94mph in the 1/8 on 26.5 peak.

The turbo still uses the 2.5" to 3" reducer.

Also, turbodawg, or should I say, young grasshopper, don't jump to conclusions.......the compressor wheel in the turbo on my car is not changed

justchil,

The turbo you are running now my ET slip looked like this:
60' 1.57
330' 4.61
1/8th 7.14
1/8th mph 100.10
1000' 9.300
1/4 11.11
1/4 mph 123.77

The turbo on the car now did this:
60' 1.70
330' 4.64
1/8th 7.07
1/8th mph 101.87
1000 9.14
1/4 et 10.89
1/4 mph 128.58

The standard 20g on my car made 20 psi at 3000 rpm. This new turbo on my car makes 20 psi at 3500 rpm.
