Brian Crower Valve Spring and Titanium Retainer Kit

Brian Crower Valve Spring and Titanium Retainer Kit for Evo 8 4G63

What have you guys heard about this valtrain kit? This is a different kit than the Crower kit. I am not looking to spend the money on the jun or tomei kits.

Same kit as the Crower one but Brian is trying to build an import business. Also look at the FP springs and retainers as well.

BC kit is very much like the Crower kit, you cannot go wrong with it.

I am big fan of crower 414 cams (280s). Look at all the poeple who say switching from HKS 272 to HKS 280. They say they pick up another 15whp. I switched to HKS 272 to crower 414. Car picked up 25whp at 7000, 47whp at 7500rpm (57trim at 21psi). No loss of low end. At the track it went 4mph faster. 121 for HKS,125 on the 414s. This was with a STROKER and not a 2.0. Two others in my area read my reports and made the same switch and got the same results. Brian is branching from Crower and just trying to get the word out with his specials. I just ordered cams, springs, and titanium retainers for 410 shipped. Deal is as good as it gets.

they also change some cam gears and possibly pick up the same.

i know what you're sayin' and your results make sense. you get a higher lift cam and at the top end the higher lift shows as you're able to support it with the flow of your turbo.

but let's make everyone very aware of this. big cams are for big turbos.

if anything the price is right.

in any case i'd still like to see more data about these cams on our cars... there's so little.

Bump. I'm looking into getting some springs and retainers for my HKS cams and am wondering if I can get more feedback from people using this kit.

I just purchased this kit for my evo. I had SBR build me a stage III head with these springs and retainers for use with some JUN 264's. The head is being shipped to me this week. Hopefully when I get back from Spain (cruise for 2 weeks ) I can finally get started on putting this back together.

I installed mine over the weekend.

Stock spring and retainer (left) vs. BC spring and Retainer (right):

The BC springs have the same diameter top to bottom whereas the stockers are smaller at the top. So the BC retainers are larger in diameter compared to stock. There's less clearance between the springs/retainers and the head, but there's still some room.
