Swift Sport springs vs. Sport SPEC-R

hey guys,
i know Swift Springs subject has been talked about a lot here....i mainly know this because for the past 4 days i've been reading every thread about swift springs. but i still am unable to find the answer to my question.

this is my situation:
i have 05 GSR. i just purchased MR Bilsteins with 2k miles on them.
i would like to get Swift springs, but i have no idea if i should go with regular Sports, or Sport SPEC-R.

please tell me the differences, pros and cons, or any other input regarding the 2 springs.
i'm torn.

I have the Swift Sport Mach on my 06 MR and love everybit of em. They ride great, drop is perfect and handle better too. Either spring will be great for what you have. The spec r have a tad higher spring rate. That's all.

I'm currently running Swift Spec-R and I am really enjoying them. They are a stiff spring but when matched with MR Bilsteins, they feel good on the street. The Spec-R's feel very stable on tight turns.

Yup, same thing. If you buy them, get em through GTWORX. They are great vendor.

ok, another question,
which ones, out of the 2 springs above, will kill the bilsteins faster?

I have an 05 GSR with MR Bilstein on as well. I've just recently purchase the Swift Sport.

The ride is awesome. If you're using it for daily driving then this is the spring for you. You don't really know that it's any stiffer then the stock springs until you go over imperfection roads, hit a pot hole and stuff like that. But over smooth bumps or humps, they feel the same. With the swift spring, the damping is more controlled. It hugs the road better and understeers less.

I don't know how the Spec R rides like, but mine is a daily driver so I opted for the lower spring rates.

Swift Sport (non-MR) 269lbs front, 319lbs rear,
Swift Sport Spec-R (non-MR) 358lbs front, 381lbs rear

Both are stiffer than you stock springs, and will lower your ride by 1.4" front, 0.8" rear

Since Bilsteins are a softer shock, the Spec-R will wear them out (over power them on the rebound stroke) faster.

Good luck on your decision...

another question:

do the stock bump stops need to be cut when installing Swift Sport?
do the new springs come with bump stops?

No and no. You don't need to cut the bump stops with the swift spring and they don't come with the springs either.

I'm doing the HD's with the sports, I've heard good things about both, but if you do 90% daily driving, you'll want to do the sports like I did.

Isn't there an MR specific Spec-R spring?

Personally I would say your spring choice should depend on your tire choice. If you plan on running r-comps or wider than 255 performance summer tires, then I'd say go with the spec-r spring. If you're going to run stock Advans, then the Sports should be adequate.
