Thanks for the bump. Please help the GB by spreading the word to other forums. We can do with more support to make it worthwhile.

And then the correct evoscan/mitsulogger definitions correlate digital smallint to PSI? That seems like a perfect way to get exactly what you are looking for....

This is very encouraging, I hope it will reach x20 to qualify for $750.00

New version of the spreadsheet.

This version also has notes explaining what each adjustment does. Hover the mouse curser over each adjustment cell to learn its function.

Good thinking.

From looking at this thread it seems like the JDM map sensor is not in fact 0-5v but rather 0-3.5v or so.

Do you agree or am I understanding it incorrectly?

Hrm, I think I may have been wrong in how I was thinking those tables worked before I actually looked at them. I'm guessing they don't define the actual voltage, but rather interpret what the ECU should expect at a voltage/pressure.

IE: the final values in each field may correspond to the maximum that the ecu is expecting in a lookup. so 4.98v could be ~3psi stock, and 3.63 corresponds to ~3psi on the JDM MAP (and are only relative to EGR functions/DTC). You could use the different evoscan formulas for stock MDP/MAP and JDM MAP to probably come up with a solution. I'll take a look in a minute...

OK, thats correct. That table is not linear anyway, so I'm not sure if it is totally correct (the slope goes way up after 3.25V) and probably is not terribly accurate.

I'm not sure if there is an easy way to find out how the ECU interprets psi-> voltage -> int though, so I may have just lead you in the wrong direction.

In any case, if you can find that out you can pick a voltage, solve for X (the smallint) and then just pop it into 0.19347*x-14.3. (and replace 14.3 with your local standard atmosphere). Just by nature of the equation if 5V=255 as the ECU interprets it, that gives the JDM MAP a Maximum value of ~35.03 psi @ 14.3 std atm. If we assume it is really only good to ~31psi at 14.5 psi std ATM and assume voltage is linear then you could use 224 as max X and just solve for:
0.19347*(V*45)-14.3

But I'm guessing the actual results are not as close to that as you want them to be. You could also just assume 255 max and use
0.19347*(V*51)-14.3

Sorry for the cross-talk, V6 looks sweet!

I have been inundated with the upgrade requests to the HFS-6 on the last few days. I thought you guys can help me with this dilemma.

I have not yet work out the best way to upgrade to HFS-6 from HFS-1 or HFS-1 yet. I have to do this properly and consistantly. My biggest problem would be supporting the next user with a mixture of wirings and harnesses. The easiest way to over come this is by not offering an upgrade path.

At present, the HFS-6 is being offered for $750 at GB until 1st March. At this price, it means you can pass on the HFS-5 at $600-650. I think this is a very nice way to benefit all. This means that you only 100 dollars for the HFS-6 rather an ungrade that may possibly costing more.

Suggestions?
