Akuma Motorsports Drag/show Evo8 build!
Here are a few pics from today's trip to Sano's Customs to check on engine bay progress.

Engine bay should be done this week or early next week.
New motor due back at Akuma by 3rd week of February. Then it's wire tucking time and lots of little detail items.

Its lookin good! I think they are forgetting one important hole. The wiring can be rerouted but the wiper hole for the wiring isnt done in those pics. Heres what my bay looks like since I finished it.
^That looks really good! So you're saying we can have the wiper hole shaved? I thought the wiper wiring ran through there?
In my wrx, I shaved that harness and hole because I chose to not run wipers at all. I have a custom one piece shaved carbon fiber wiper cowl and I ran my brake lines up there to hide them completely.

The wiring is LONG, it even looks like they cut off the post that hold the wiring to the firewall with the exception of one back in the corner (its a ***** to get to). With the wiring being long enough and with the tuck coming anyways the wiring should be able to be rerouted in the cab. A new hole next to the blower box will have to be drilled.

From this angle you can see the hole in the firewall where the blower box will go. You can also see the wiper motor. Just drill a hole big enough for the wiring to fit through. Keep it kinda high to keep water from coming into the cab and your good.

Nice! Dave at Sano's JUST asked me today about that hole too! I will call him first thing and have him remove it. We have NO problem at all routing wiring through firewall. Thanks for the pics and suggestions! If you could, PLEASE send me ALL your engine bay pics to our e-mail: RUNTHAT1@gmail.com
Thanks!
Thanks!
OK, just got back from Sano's again. Wiper motor wiring hole is now gone and the bay is getting prepped, masked up, and then primed. Looking like it should be done Wednesday or Thursday for pick up and return to Akuma for install of fuel cell, and custom side-exit exhaust, etc. And of course the new motor, tranny, etc. installs in a couple more weeks.
