FP Black w/Built 2.0L & E70 - New Manifold

Well I figured I would post a new thread for this, I will update this when I get a full on retune but here is the results of the new manifold. I am running a MAP long Runner manifold that is heat coated.

Mod list (hopefully all of it):

Buschur Bullet Exhaust
UR Testpipe
AMS Downpipe
AMS IC
AMS UICP/LICP
Primo 3.5" intake
FP black - ported heat coated
Blouch 21psi WGA
Built Motor - AMS Spec JE pistons, Manley TT rods, Cosworth bearings, stock sleeves stock crank
Built head - Ported/polished, +1mm valves (supertech) w/supertech springs
GSC S2 cams
Baseline w/ported n Coated stock mani - obviously changed manifolds
DW 1400cc Injectors
MAP AFPR kit
BlaqOps Progressive boost double pumper
E70 fuel
ACT 6 puck w/ ACT streetlite flywheel
Magnus CMC

Just for fun we did a run on my race tune to see where it was at and here are those results...no dyno graph, I can try and get one later if anyone cares to see it. The boost is what impresses me.

Here is a little info....it's an overlay of boost logs from my car. One is from last October on the stock ported mani, one is from last night with the long runner. Both are my "track tune". The numbers should be pretty close as the baselines were spot on for my regular tune with the stock mani this week vs last october (within 1hp).

Numbers for stock ported were - 564whp/464wtq.
Numbers for long runner were - 562whp/465wtq.

So basically the same damn numbers at way way less boost...next step...bring the boost back up.

As you can see the new manifold is considerably more efficient. I am excited to see what I can get outta the black with a full retune. Stay Tuned.

Thanks Omni.

I have some other graphs from other manifolds we tested that I'll throw up for comparisons sake in here.

Most can be seen in MAP's thread about the testing.

Damn Ron, lol, there is still snow! I am going the first day to Rock Falls though

I have tried to go twice to the track...once my motor blew up on the way, the second time we sat at the track for 4 hours until they called it for rain.

Soon hopefully!

Here are the other results from other manifolds tested:

Mind you, zero tuning was done on these, it was a swap and see what it made type test...not modify it and make the results questionable.

(I know both ways aren't perfect but this is what we did)

This is the MAP revised longer runner vs. the FID mani

This is the OEM ported vs the FID mani

This is the OEM vs the revised map long runner

And this is the ported stocker vs the MAP short runner.

I can't wait to see what your numbers will be when you go back to the amount of boost you were running before.

the short runner looks like the best manifold in my opinion. spools much better than the long runner and makes only a hair less top end power... I'd buy the short runner even if they were the same price, but the fact that its almost 300 bucks cheaper makes it a clear winner in my book...

Here's to hoping it doesn't get a price increase when I get around to buying a new manifold...

thanks for the testing MAP and Murlo

I wouldn't mind seeing high boost levels on the short runner vs map tubular either. Just to see if the short runner will fall short and the tubular will show it being the better of the two of them

The long runner and short runner need to be tested at 38psi to show true results with that black.
