I've been considering the S1's myself over the S2, and this turbo is on my wish list!! I've got an auto gearbox, and it would probably be abit of a dog with the S2's. I've just got to hope the auto will last, although I see English Racing have some experience with making those handle the power too.

ER builds Mitsu slushboxes too? I would love to have an Evo IX wagon with a 10:1, 2.4L. LR engine, and a BB Green on E85!

One thing I forgot to mention is that in Road race applications when you have high G cornering and get oil pump cavitation or uncover the pickup the first thing to fail is the turbo as it is always at full rpm and then no oil. The DBB will solve this issue though at the same time the bottom end is still subject to oiling issues of course.

This is almost making me want a dbb black now. I wanted the black before, but didnt want to deal with all the pesky oil starvation issues, special oils etc.

This is the graph between a stock IX turbo and the green?? On the same car/mods/fuel/conditions?

I'm asking this more for clarification than anything else - because it seems like the stock turbo is very close all the way just before 6k rpms, and that's with stock turbo running ~2 psi less than the Green.. or was this also with the injectors maxed out?

Any thoughts on why both the DBB HTA Green and the stock turbo don't spool quicker on the 2.4L? The reason I ask is that back when I was getting tuned on a Dynojet my car hit 400ft# @ 3700rpm on a 2.0L and original non-HTA Green, whereas yours seems to hit that level at around 3900-4000rpm with 20% more displacement and what is supposed to be a quicker spooling turbo. Are there other parts in your setup that kills initial spool?

from the fp website it looks like even the hta green hit peak around 4300-4500rpms though..

My bad. I was under the impression the HTA (esp. the DBB version) would be faster spooling than the old original Green/20G-LT.
