Awesome write up! I'm still torn between the hta3582r, hta3586r, or the pte 6262 for a daily driver on pump gas. Any idea when that hta3586r is hitting full boost on the 2.3l? I'm not totally convinced yet that the efr turbos will be much better than the hta series turbos..

read the thread again. he said 32 @ 5k.. so inbetween 4800-5000 most likely which sounds right to me. (28psi by 4500)

hta86 is proven over and over.. if i went big turbo its what i would use and David is using it right now on what some would say is one of the best combinations possible in a evo to date. his car performs on 1/4 and autox, and road course.. it does everything.. and doesn't just do it.. it wins or comes damn close multiple events in different environments.. id say that's a damn good combination!

6262 is a turd compared to a hta86.. sorry but its true. its laggier. it has a larger compressor wheel.

correct me if im wrong.

Sorry i missed it I thought I read everything :-/ I'm doing a 2.3l too, but 93 pump gas only I don't have much else around me. If this is all true I'm definitely getting the hta86! I didn't like how the 6262 wasn't water cooled either..

If it impressed me the turbo kits would come immediately after testing.

8374 on my personal car in the future when we get it. The 7670 soon on a car in my possession.

HTA over GTX, why? Garrett isn't sending me turbos to test, if they want to see results, send me a turbo. On top of that Forced Performance has not only continued to up the bar they have continued support me with winning products.

cant wait to see this test. i do not want to swap out my turbo but i have no problem doing so for something else that is better.

dave i hate to bring back a question you answered already but have you ever tested the 6262? how did it compare to the HTA86. now if you tested it and chose the HTA86 then why not give the new turbine wheel design a re test? the 6262 and HTA86 are similar turbo's and PTE improved the turbine wheel. and there claiming better spool and more HP then there older 6262.

also thank you for even doing ANOTHER turbo test to begin with. i and many of us appreciate it a lot.

I did answer this, I think. The 6262 was laggier and made less power. The fitment is also not identical last time I tried so it won't fit on my car and I'm not building a new header try it out.

that power curve on the 3586 is amazing! These graphs are the reason why I decided to go with the 3586. Thanks for helping me make my decision.

such a tough decision for my 1g auto, i just want power to pull until 8500-9000 rpm on a 2.3 but i want it to come on between 4000-4500. Tough choice there.
Again a big thanks for these, with so many shops flooding the market its nice to know to there some doing R&D not just reselling crap.

I swapped the HTA3076 onto my '32 Ford yesterday, it's an auto transmission. It's fantastic on that set up!

Is the '32 a 2.0 or 2.3 short block?

Where would you expect 20 psi and full spool to be on a 2.0lt with 10.5:1 compression?

The '32 has the 2.3 Stroker.

EDITED - stated incorrect info.
