whats your knock voltage?

I'm running 92 octane and 20psi and my voltage is steadily climbing to .8volts, which is pretty low. My car was originally tuned with the stock intercooler, but now i have the nisei and the temps dropped quite a bit and the knock volts are low. just wondering if there is some power left to get from adding timing. let me know what your running. thanks, nick.

well, from what i've heard anything under 2.5 volts is just engine noise.
How much timing are you running now? What are your AFR's?

about 4-5 degress in the 5-7k range at 20psi. afr's are at 11.3:1. i usually gets a couple little spikes up to 1.7-2.2v range but only last a fraction of a second, the rest of the pull averages around .8volts.

My friend mark runs around a 10.8 on 91 octane. I was looking at his AEM log and it was around 12 - 16 degrees of timing running 24 psi on a GT3076R. Make sure you set your knock retard well so you can play around a little and not have to worry about grenading anything. The Nisei intercooler should allow you to run leaner/more timing than you could with the stock intercooler. What type of inlet temps are you seeing (provided you're using a air temp sensor)? Are you on the stock turbo?

i'm running the stock turbo right now. the nisei works great! usually whatever ambient is, that's what my intake temps are. they never really seem to go up when i do a pull, usually they go down. temps in this area are usually 60-65 degrees. at night i've seen my intake temps at 54 degrees. as far as knock goes, the motor makes more noise in 1st and 2nd gear then it does in 3rd and 4th. always under 1 volt but with a 3-4 spikes as opposed to 1-2 in the higher gears. any ideas on that? thanks for all your input.

awesome! glad you like the intercooler. This is Rob from myevostore.com/Nisei Eng. It's always great to hear feedback.

3-4 spikes you mean 3rd gear and 4th?
